Big Ass Buidling?????????????????

Since last April I have been working on cleaning up a 10,000 antique brick building out there in the middle of nowhere. It would of course be more desireable if it were near Austin, say, where creative people lived and jobs were plentiful.

However, being out here means that only three of us paying $200 for 3 of the six rooms could make it a financial go, instead of the $2000 needed if it were in a urban area. As there are no jobs, someone on disability or other independent income have an advantage. Medicare/medicaid services are available.

I did not find anyone in the six months, but the building has been for sale for 17 years, and will probably remain so should you or others want to make a "lifestyle" resort out of the estate.

It is an old school, that was vacated because of declining population, not condemnation.. People who have seen other "abandoned" schools in Texas are amazed at how much better shape this one is in. A 200 seat auditorium is immaculate. Yes there are things to do, but none of them are out of my ability, given time and security to work on them. The only truly bad part is the old gym, which is a write-off, but provides an inexaustible supply of lumber and things to build furniture and divider type stuff with.

I have found that the only serious objection to the project has been that people either near or far away refuse to believe it's actual relavely positive condition, nor will they come to check it out themselves basing their opions on other schools or what thet saw 5 years ago before I got to work. Of course local kids actually believe it's haunted and there's no overcoming that stupidity.

I was surprised to find that even the school bell worked all through the day.

I think it's a dream with great possibilities and if you want to consider it, please contact me. If it is still available, perhaps we can work out some arrangement with the owner. There is at least one photograph in my profile.
