About DelightfulSpirit

Delight Spirit
(owned and collared, please read)

I am a warm, sincere, emotional person who has been called, at various times, greedy bottom, masochist, submissive, attention slut, passionate, and delightful.

Good play for me is emotionally connected. I am owned and collared by Uncle Abdul, and all play is by permission of him.

I've been in the scene since early 2005. I like to attend community events (munches, classes). I love meeting people, and if it turns out we can share on a personal level and become friends, I am especially happy.

[Note: This profile is up to date as of February 2011.]

I am feeling so much better now.? Life is good, and in fact I have accepted a trial collar.? Learning...

Hurting right now.

A little bit of the history of my journey (I'm taking this out of my profile and putting here in my journal instead)

Fall 2004 ... hair grabbed and held ... oh, what a surprise was my sudden awareness/ attention / deepening relaxation!? What's this?? "Submissive"??

Luckily, my husband and I were already polyamorous, and, with a lot of work, our paths were able to accommodate the new exploration, and we have stayed close and strong.
I am myself
With strong feelings
Thoughts
Expression
AND I obey Him.

The more he steps
into his own power
the more easily, naturally,
he controls mine

Not stifled, not silenced,
far from it.
He likes his women strong!

As I serve him
I serve myself
and the rest of my family

As I serve him, I am
called to transparency
called to authenticity
called to holding space
called to patience
called to Joy

But, whether in any moment
it is joy or it is sorrow,
Whether it is work or play
holding or being held
It is real
and it is good.

I now have a couple of wonderful play partnerships.? The friendship and trust brings much satisfaction.?

I attend events occasionally, and am always open to meeting people.
"No-sex bdsm"
(subtitled "Get Off My Back" Rant)

First of all, what I do is not really "sexless" or "nonsexual," because there is a lot of sexual energy generated (and enjoyed by all parties).?

In the definition of SEX=Sacred Energy Exchange, of course all BDSM -- when it's good -- is sex!

For the purposes of this rant, I am going to use the definition of "sex"=hand-genital, orgasm, oral, intercourse.? At this time, I want to not do that but I still want to do BDSM play.

There's a lot more to BDSM than "sex".? There's sensation play.? There's? beyond-the-bedroom Dominance/submission and service.? There's grabbing hair, sending submissive into subspace, sense of satisfaction the Dominant can get from directing/dominating/guiding.? Not everything has to include "sex".? Even sexual or sensual *feelings* don't have to be acted out, they can be savored.

Why do I want to have "no-sex" bdsm?? Frankly, because so many people want me, and I don't want to have sex with "so many people".

I just want to play without being pressured for sex.? If I want to take a lover eventually, I can choose to let that develop when that time comes.? Meanwhile, I just want friends to go to classes and events with.

The only problem with this plan, as I see it so far, is that apparently it bothers some people to *read* about it.? Well too bad.?

Of course my plan could also be a problem if I didn't have any play partners willing to respect these limits.? But I do, and I value them highly.?

*We* aren't having any trouble with it.? The rest of you, get off my back!

Update: Recent breakup :-(  (of secondary relationship, not marriage!) ... I would like to make friends in the local bdsm community, to attend classes and events. "Nonsexual bdsm-dating" anyone?

Finding Myself

I am very happy lately in submission/Dominance with my lover who is stepping into His role most decisively and lovingly.

After I see Him, I transition "up and out" to my regular-daily-life space where I feel complete and powerful within myself ... but I also look forward with delicious anticipation to offering the control to Him again where I can serve Him and sink, peaceful and secure... ?
Identity, exploration

It has been pointed out to me that one cannot be a sub without a Dom.  True enough.

On the other hand, I believe one can "be" bisexual without ever being sexual with that other gender; polyamorous without having more than one lover; even a particular gender without having that gender's genitalia.

It is a matter of self-discovery, then--if one is lucky--fulfillment of that self.

Over a year ago, I stumbled upon a new awareness when my hair was grabbed and my reaction warranted finding out what it meant.  From those beginning inklings, I "had" my Dominant, and therefore I "was" a submissive.  Now I do not have Him any more, and I am painfully aware of what I am not.  However, I still am...

...me, whoever "me" is.  Just me, just exploring.  What that looks like right now is a lot of studying, reading, writing; some effort to be agreeable and please my husband; a little playing; and a healthy dose of hope and faith.

And goodwill toward men.

Cheers!

Power or control?

In your opinion, in a D/s relationship, does the sub give up her power in the relationship, or are the two people in the relationship actually equal, just filling different roles: leader/follower like in ballroom dancing ?

Here is a description of submission from castlerealm's article "First Steps"

?Submission is the act of surrendering some or all of ones personal power to another person. It's allowing someone else to control your body and behavior within certain preset limits. This must be a willing act on the part of the submissive or the boundaries of abuse have been crossed. The methods and levels of submission are infinite. Each person must decide how much and how far this exchange of power will go but the rules of "safe, sane and consensual" must always apply.?

To me, choice is very important; I feel that I always have choice, and therefore I always have my personal power, even when I loan it, or entrust it to someone to use and direct its use.  Ultimately, I am renewing my consent every time I obey and every moment I stay.

So I balk at an interpretation that the dominant has more power in the relationship.  I feel strongly that we are equal, though one directs and one follows.

The words ?within certain preset limits? and ?willing act on the part of the submissive? seem to support my ideas.  What seems to speak of unequal power is:  ?surrendering?personal power to another person?.  However, if we change one word so it reads: ?Submission is the act of surrendering some or all of one?s control to another person? or ?Submission is the act of surrendering some or all of one?s personal power to another person?s control and direction,? well then that feels good.

I do yearn to let go, to ?sink? and to feel a certain peace that comes with relinquishing control.  I yearn to hear ?That?s not your concern? and to know that all is already well.  I have felt that in the past, but not lately since my ex-Dom and I parted ways.  Now, on my own, being in charge of myself, doing my reading, talking and pondering, I sometimes wonder if I am even submissive.  But sometimes I trust that if and when I choose a Dominant in the future and he chooses me, we will creative together a relationship that works for us, and I will feel the delicious letting go again.

I just changed my profile to "straight" instead of bisexual.  I am definitely bi-sensual, and perhaps 10-15% bisexual on a continuum ...

My path leads me to continue to explore BDSM, but very carefully--safely, sanely for me, and always consensually--as we do say in this community.

I am looking for more of a friend-and-mentor type than a lover.

Therefore, those who are mainly looking for sex may wish to look elsewhere.  Likewise, I am not available to relocate, to travel long distances, or to be a slave in someone's home.  I am not replacing my husband and I do have a full family, work and social life.  Also, I will not play or have a relationship with someone whose wife doesn't know.

If, however, it would please you to work with this delightful submissive in learning and play with submission, pain and service -- then let's talk.

Also, anyone (not just candidates) please do feel free to message me with genuine support and discussion.  Thanks :-)

Sincere thanks to all the people who have read my journal and sent encouraging words.

There is such a wide range of how relationships can be done, each must follow his or her own heart.

To any who are reading this now, I invite your opinions on the following issue:

Can a polyamorous D/s relationship work out where the submissive has a vanilla spouse?  How?  What areas are best kept separate?  What areas are good for the husband and the Dominant to consult with each other on?

I am recently uncollared, and grieving.? I needed open communication between my Dominant and my husband; when that failed I could not continue.? I cherish the bond we had and will always be grateful for the opening and the learning.? I still stand for transparency and for love.
