Godhand Q&A
Why the name Godhand? What does it mean?
Godhand is my stage name from performing music and spoken-word poetry. I just carried it over into the scene rather than thinking up a new moniker. The meaning behind the name is several-fold. Godhand is short form for "Hand of God" or "Divine Hand", the second being a favorite character of mine from "Samurai Champloo" (a favorite anime series of mine). The name also implies that I'm sent like a force of nature. Also, in some card games a "godhand" is another name for a "Boston" (meaning you can win every hand by yourself). I'm not hardcore about the use of the name. Half the time, I introduce myself by my real name. Just depends what mood I'm in. Previous to "Godhand", I often went by "Exodus" or "Ex" for short (also derived from my stage name at the time).
How long have you been into BDSM?
I've been into BDSM since late 1999 / early 2000. But I wasn't plugged into any organized scene until about 3 years ago. Before that, I'd done underground play parties thrown by a closed circle of kinkster friends (some BDSM, some swingers, some poly, some other shit entirely). But I never realized that there was any kind of organized scene with rules/literature/conventions/regular meetings until relatively recently. Hence, I don't use a lot of the same terminology as everybody else or subscribe to all of the same philosophies.
Are you high protocol?
I wouldn't currently classify myself as such. But I do find high protocol to be a fascinating subject. I'm in a transition of sorts from low protocol to increasing levels of protocol, but I wouldn't exactly say that the label "high protocol" fits me at this time.
Why don't you capitalize words like "Me, Mine, My, etc" in your posts?
Because it requires too much use of the shift button for my taste. It would slow down my rate of typing so much, I probably wouldn't bother posting at all.
What kind of Dom are you?
I've been wary of labels because of the pigeon-hole mentality that often accompanies them. But gradually I've been coming to consider myself a Sensual Sadist.

Yes. Me and my last partner got tested. Its all good.

Why haven't I seen you at any recent events?
I switched jobs and my new schedule conflicts with most munches and conventions. Also, the majority of my free time in the past half year has been spent in the gym.

Death In The Family: I recently got word that my paternal grandmother died. She was 76 and died in her sleep. She previously had two strokes in recent years, so while I wasn't overly shocked by her death, I wasn't exactly expecting the news either. This weekend I'm traveling up to Pennsylvania to serve as a pallbearer at her funeral. I'm also going to stay up there a few extra days to be there for family. This means that I won't be attending the Early Bloomers Gathering or the Dominant's Roundtable this weekend. I do plan to be at the upcoming Sunday Louisville Munch, though. Peace.
