I'm a writer, and a moderately successful one at that. Since I realize people on CollarMe are prone to trust issues, I can say that I've written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic Traveler, Sports Illustrated, and many other publications that you've heard of. If you really press me on this, I can even send you links.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and still have a tentative base here, in the sense that whenever I come back to the States, I come home to visit mom and dad. For most of the year(s), though, I'm abroad. I've lived in Africa since 2007, and I will return to it in January 2011, after spending the holidays in NY. My life there is characterized by constant motion. Johannesburg has been home for most of 2010, but I'll be spending much of 2011 living out of a backpack in West Africa. After that, I'm not really sure. I might be in a beach house in Zanzibar. I might be in Cape Town. I might be in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, or Beirut.

Why am I telling you all this? First of all, to prove that I'm a real human being with a real life, not an automated perv who sits on his laptop all day, cutting and pasting one-line messages to every last girl in leather pants. I have genuine hopes and ambitions, most of which have nothing to do with this website.

Second, I'm doing it to clarify the peculiar nature of my life. I'm looking for deep, meaningful connections, even if I'm also looking to get off in dirty, dirty ways. I'm constantly coming and going, and I don't expect to have a stable home for the next year at least, but I still believe that people have the capacity to touch one another in such a way as to make distances...if not altogether irrelevant, at least temporarily tolerable. While I'm open to casual play with the right person(s), I'm also looking for someone who might compel me to come back to New York more often, or even think about sticking around for a while. Alternatively, someone who'd be willing to meet me in Lagos on a lark.

As for the kink stuff, I consider myself a switch, but with heavy submissive leanings. I'd expect to meet someone who likewise considers these roles to be somewhat fluid, but who would herself have dominant inclinations. The particulars are all negotiable, though I'm a sucker for a pretty face and a pretty pair of feet.

It's probably a bit quixotic of me to expect anything to come of all this. I've been on and off (and on...and off) this site for seven or eight years, at least, and I realize what a cesspool CollarMe is. Still, against all available evidence, I have faith in human nature. Somewhere amid all these bits and bytes and bullshit artists, I'd like to think something true might prevail.
