Why, hello there! I am "The Idiot Patrol," alter ego of a "real" Collarspace member who has been here many moons and has seen fit to create this profile as a means of blowing off steam, making new friends, and providing a public service to Collarspace worldwide by notifying idiots of their inherent idiocy!
HOW THIS WORKS: If I am looking at your profile, I may find the profile to be intriguing or the pictures attractive... OR it is because I am hot on the trail of an idiot. If I approach you with a simple hello or any other communication then you guessed it (or likely not, lol)... you are in fact an idiot and this is your friendly revelation of such. The sole exception to this is when I specifically alert you that I am "off duty" and saying hello or chatting for a moment.
OK, you are an IDIOT. NOW WHAT?! Well, odds are you are fucked because... well, you ARE an idiot. For those who are actually not an idiot but instead are ACTING like an idiot, perhaps I may have some future journal entries/suggestive tutorials that may be of use to stop the behavior. Who knows... this alert and some simple direction may actually result in you actually getting somewhere with the right person.
You see, Collarspace is somewhat similar to a morning commute. You have many, many people looking to travel somewhere and be a part of something, but they cross paths with many other people who go to different destinations and/or share similar routes. Much like the morning commute analogy, some people are naturally terrible behind the wheel/screen, while others seem to feel as though their cars (or in this case, profiles) offer them some anonymity and protection to act VERY differently from how they would act face-to-face with others with whom they now feel the need treat rather differently from behind the wheel/screen. As such, we have rubber-necking, road rage, bottlenecks, car wrecks, and all sorts of fun things that make those who feel the need to suit up and show up every day dread the laborious chore of interacting with these others in order to reach that destination.
So, as I actually have some serious ambition of meeting somebody in R/L, I find it more prudent to separate the simple and honest attempt to meet and communicate with others from the tempting if not overwhelming desire to confront idiocy around here. Thus, in the name of Truth, Justice and The American Way, I further surround myself with the same anonymity behind this alter-ego/mask and set forth to right the wrongs of Collarspace.
So hopefully this can provide a useful alert to some and a couple of laughs to others, who knows? With a lovingly flashed smile and an honest desire to see you fall off a cliff and disappear for good, I bid you good morrow. - T.I.P.
