On-line text communication is a medium of words, always potentially of questionable truthfulness and limited effectiveness.  I am fascinated by the blurred line many people seem to have between their expectations in the real world and their expectations of how people will behave in the unreal, anonymous, self-portraying medium of a website profile or an inquiring email.  "Be real or be gone!"  "Game players move on!"  Such foot-stomping hardly has any real-world impact other than to demonstrate the foot-stomper's fuzzy boundaries.  Then again, there are also people who seem to believe if they lean on their car horn hard enough, the snarled, traffic-filled intersection in front of them will simply, by mandate, clear.

There are many reasons why a person may choose not to include a photo with their profile, but I have trouble understanding why anyone would choose not to include a profile with their profile.  What possible incentive can there be for someone to contact you based on the fact that you have identified yourself as a "male dominant" (or sub, or female, etc.) of a certain age residing in a particular area, and nothing else???  Even when a pick-list of interests from the website is included, in the absence of some narrative statement about yourself, what reason is there for someone to consider YOU uniquely suited to pierce, whip, control or even break bread with them?

Clearly if it is a test of one's threshhold of submission, then mine is not low enough for you; I don't sign blank checks or buy pigs in pokes.  If it is lack of sufficient interest (or interests) to write one, you may be scratching your head wondering why you get no replies, or maybe you have long since forgotten you signed up here, since you haven't gotten an email from the site in three years!
