I am Cherokee...I have lived everywhere and nowhere.  I have lived in trailers and mansions.  I have gone to church with my white grandmother and searched for my spirit guide with my Indian grandmother.  I have sat on the beach, drinking MD 20/20, smoking herb with friends around a bonfire, the flames reflecting in my eyes, the bottom of my jeans wet from the ocean.  I have had money, and I have had none.  I have ridden horses wildly through the wind, my hair flowing long and loose behind me.  I have lived in a thousand pair of jeans.  I have loved many men, sexually and not.  At 16, I sat in a car with my Jamaican friend, smoking herb, and I reached over to kiss him deeply...and he smiled and said, "Ja mon, thas what I be talkin about..."  I have been 13 and I have 45, but I have always been the age that I am now.  Ageless Wind.  I once walked 3 miles with a friend of mine to her court date because neither one of us had a car, and it rained on us, and we laughed for the joy of it.  I have talked with winos--cubans and mexicans who caught the field bus every morning in front of the dime store just to make enough money to buy that drink that would get them through the night.  I loved a black man and married him.  Three years ago, I looked death in the face when my husband died...and then again, last August when my mom and my 11 year old niece died in a tragic car accident.  I know what I am, what I do. I once rode down the Trail of Tears on the back of a motorcycle with my brother from the Coeur D'Alene tribe.  I have lived a lifetime of love, loss, family, and friends.  My friends are my friends forever.  This is who I am.
