This profile is in memory of Shani Rose, a sweet "little" slave girl who passed away on November 17, 2008, in Spokane, Washington. Shani Rose was also known by some local leather folk as Nomi Rose, and was an active participant in the leather community in Washington State for many years. This profile is intended to spread the word among those who knew her, but have not seen her for a few years due to her failing health. The groups Shani Rose was a member of no longer exist as such, so we felt this would be one way to let everyone who knew this sweet girl know of her passing. Her original profile can be viewed under the name "ShaniRose."

Shani Rose first came out into the gay/lesbian community in San Deigo, California, nearly 30 years ago. She soon moved to Santa Rosa, California, and later, to Spokane, where she has lived for many years. She took great pride in participating in Pride parades and loved her community fiercely.

Shani Rose was first introduced to slavehood and slave service many years ago by the fine Ms Silva Tennebien, of Vancouver, Canada. Shani Rose was always very grateful to Ms Tennebien for bringing out her slave heart. This is who Shani Rose truly was. Her ill health prevented her from providing full service, but this sweet girl was always eager and oh so willing to offer everything she could. Her sweet spirit, listening ear, and wise insight will be much missed by those she served.

A series of strokes suffered while only in her 30's caused permanent damage and Shani Rose often relied upon a wheelchair for mobility. She suffered with ill health for most of the past 15 years, and had recently spent some time in the hospital. Her death was unexpected, as she was recovering nicely from her recent illness, and was a terrible shock to those who loved her.

Shani Rose was protected in guardianship by MsBeth, of Walla Walla, while her search for a Mistress of her own was ongoing. It was Shani Rose's dream to find a Jewish Mistress with whom she could share not only the delights of a loving relationship and full TPE, but also the same faith. Near the end of her journey on earth her hope was flagging, and as she wrote in her profile, "Where are the popcorn and tissues now? I fear this is a dream which will never be true." And, sadly, she was right. Shani Rose's Mistress never found her. However, Shani Rose found real joy in serving her guardian from time to time when her health permitted, and was always ready and eager to give to the community whenever possible.

It is with sadness that we mark the passing of Shani Rose, and it is with honor that we remember all that she was--sweet little girl slave, friend to everyone she met, adoring owner of several devoted dogs over the years, and a "very good girl"! I can still hear the peals of her delighted little girl laughter everytime she heard that phrase--she loved to be pronounced a good girl!
