The past century has seen dramatic changes to the face of how women and men relate to each other. For centuries men where in position of strength based solely on their physical strength and ability to protect, hunt and kill for survival. Men used this strength to create laws, religions and rules that kept women in a position of submission. Even today third world countries still hold tight to laws that oppress women. But in advanced countries things have changed rapidly. In the early years of our modern era it was recognized that women would be allowed to vote. During World War II the United States was forced to seek female labor in the work force as result of so many men being away at war. From the success of the war it was obvious that women could perform the same task as men with equal skill and proficiency. No longer could it be said that women were void of the abilities that men had.
