Somehow I knew there was a scam in there somewhere. I really didn't see it coming, but suddenly there it was. This one didn't originate from West African./ At least I don't think it did. There certainly was no real verification. It felt much closer to home. Oh well. Even old dogs get to learn new tricks I suppose

I remain in awe of the number of people who are on this site for reasons that appear nefarious. I use the nefarious for a very good reason. Often conversations often turn very quickly into requests for money. As I read profiles there seems to be a pattern that emerges. Sometimes it is a location which makes no sense. For instance: city – Hartford, CT; state – Montana. More frequently it is a person’s weight that is expressed in lbs that makes no sense; but if considered as being in kg – probably does make sense. For instance an adult having a weight of 65 lbs makes no sense (at least I hope not). But assuming that is really a metric weight (kg) then a weight of 143 lbs does make sense. I may say with certainty that I have never met a native American who ever expresses their weight in terms of kilograms. Perhaps the most common is the immediate, and urgent, pressure to shift the conversation to YIM. For a time I wondered why that might be. It has occurred to me that, if one were to report a person to CM as requesting money that person would be kicked off the site quickly. YIM does not police in that way.

The question is why does this happen with such regularity and with these predicable patterns? It is almost like there is come underlying business plan at work. Typically the deceptions are in play to generate cash flow, but to the advantage of whom? One can imagine an organization with that is far reaching using these young ladies for the purposes of generating revenue. It seems very odd.

I have seen something else that requires comment. That is the nature of the Copyright. The Copyright is part of intellectual property law and is dependent on certification by the Library of Congress. The Library of Congress does not issue a Certificate of Copyright unless the writing in question is part of their holdings. To claim your CM profile is Copyrighted is patently silly. Unless you are prepared to produce your Certificate of Copyright, then don’t claim Copyright protection.

I find this very odd. This community represents a very big tent. The community has very broad bandwidth. Everybody gets to have their own kink; everyone gets to have their own circumstances. We are searching for the same things: compatibility and connection. The likelihood that anyone’s focus matches any particular individual’s need is very small. But, if the connection is not there is that grounds for blocking? That speaks to a narrow mindedness. If you can’t tolerate the bandwidth, you really don’t belong here. If you block without discussion you are pathetically trifling.
