About MountainManWA
(A note on my location: I'm currently in Gold Bar but often work in Arlington and spend a lot of time in Seattle. I'll be moving -- somewhere -- soon, so that location may be influenced depending on whether I meet someone especially awesome. ;)
All my life I have been obsessed with BDSM, especially rope and leather bondage sex. But in a sense, I guess I'm new to the BDSM "scene." In many ways I don't identify with the "lifestyle" aspects of the BDSM scene. I'm more interested with in-the-bedroom substance than in-the-club style, and intense psychological relationships that happen to involve hot kinky sex than a lot of community "play." As a result, I've begun past relationships through vanilla channels, then shared my bondage interests with girlfriends -- usually for their first time. Some found they enjoyed being a sub in my hands, but usually I felt they were, in a sense, only humoring me. Ultimately, I've found that my relationships can only go so far with someone who isn't as passionate, intense, and just plan hot about bondage as I am.
I'm not really necessarily looking for a 24/7 D/s relationship, and usually find myself on equal terms with my girlfriends outside the bedroom. I think I could be happy in that sort of situation long-term. But I'm constantly getting more in touch with my demanding take-charge side in all aspects of life, so could find myself taking on a more dominant role in all aspects of a relationship if it happened to come naturally in a close, intimate, and trusting environment. Although I think ultimately I'm looking for one full-time lover, for now I'm also open to somewhat more casual/playful/open/poly sorts of experiences. However, I'm not really interested in really surface-level, "no strings attached" encounters.
Outside of the bedroom, I'm not exactly vanilla either. I'm fiercely independent and not much for following trends. I tend to moderate by blending extremes. For years I was a dedicated party-goer, but these days I'm strongly drawn by nature and have a place on the Skykomish River near Gold Bar (though I'm around Seattle often). My biggest hobbies are hiking, photography, mountain biking, motorcycles, snowshoeing, and working on old cars and trucks. I've worked doing research in Antarctica, designing electronics for scientists, flying airplanes, designing airplanes, and programming computers. (Now I consult as an aerospace engineering manager and programmer.) I'm highly intellectual but like football and Nascar. I have a type-A personality, but I'm always late. I'm slender but athletic. I have a pressing need for physical challenges and staying in shape but also swilling beer and playing video games. Some of my friends have been to burning man ten times, and some are ex-marines.
