I will require a contract with my sub, as well as a medical history, and any existing medical conditions, and any medications currently prescribed. Coming from a poly home, with a Dominant father has made my intro into the lifestyle somewhat difficult. I came into the lifestyle, and was taught old school. I have found that this gives me a greater insight into the mind of the sub/slave. Subs are more than doormats with which to wipe ones feet upon, but are still human beings, having needs, fears, and hopes, like everybody else, and need a strong Dominant in their life to give them boundries. They need the security of knowing that someone is there to make sure they are safe, and secure, no matter what. I believe that the safety of my sub comes first, and will do what is necessary to make sure they are safe.
If my sub is sick, or tired, then I will not scene her that day. Same with me. If I am overly tired, or sick, or under the influence. then I will not scene, period. I have seen BD/SM parties that state "BYOB", and find this to be scary, knowing the human mind, and its' propensity towards extremes of behavior when under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It is my opinion that alcohol/drugs do not belong in a scening environment, and will not tolerate, nor will I attend a party where such is allowed. Alcohol, whips, and subbies are a bad combination, and I can only forsee injury to the sub under such conditions.
