Thank you to all who have answered. It was bigger than I expected and maybe I should have posted this to the message board.
So far answers have varied and some have been really quite scary. The people that have been used and abused I feel a deep sympathy for, and praise you for still coming back to the lifestyle and not judging us all by those deeds.
A fake sounded mild and not dangerous... however the fraudulent means of obtaining a stay in the country and then to expose a Dom in the most horrible and public way.... it is beyond reproach. I feel fake for those people is way too mild a word.

A little research needed here.
What is a Fake? I don't mean explain the word to Me via the Collins Dictionary. I mean what would make someone talk to another person and then at the end of it come to the conclusion that person is a fake?
Only respond if you actually want to, it is not University Challenge, I do not need a thesis written just an example of what is considered a Fake. The reason for the research is that I have not come across any. I have come across people who are limited by their wants and desires and those desires do not match what I believe D/s or BDSM is, but does that make the person a fake or just someone who is limited by their own kinks?
