Gentlooking

A small rant on "men" of today...

Too many men are left as boys by the culture of the 70's, 80's and 90's. I think we lost something there. There was a time when Men trusted based on their word. My father and Grandfather both drilled it in as Men the only thing we come into this world with and leave with is our word. If you give it, fulfill it. Regardless of cost personally. That's why you weigh things out before giving your word. There was a time when Men held honor, and duty above all thing. When we protected the weak and women. It was natural, like breathing.

Now these little boys run around thinking it's manly to have 5 kids with 3 women. Or to treat women ill or like "bitches and ho's" (disgusting!) Or to run in a gang of other little boys, all crying for attention against a society that created them.

And let me not get started on clothing. I understand casual today. I wear it frequently!, but I try and keep clean and a nice mix of color and pattern or materials and still look manly. The thug fashion stuff is awful. It still makes me laugh thinking of these little boys trying to be delinquent and run from the cops with their pants around their ankles.

I guess what I'm saying is I miss fedoras, and black coffee and pie in a diner car, and tipping a hat to a woman, let alone all the morals. Sometimes I think the way forward may not be forward but a look back to what was good.
