I believe the art of communication is slowly being lost. I dont think we should go back to the dark ages on this, but I do think that especially online where we dont have the benefit (not right away anyway) of meeting face to face; the only thing we have to show we respect each other is time, and our attention to detail.
I cannot stand getting an email that is full of chat speak. Typos I dont like either, but I can deal with them (but you can and SHOULD use spell check). But the chat speak is like nails on a chalk board to me.
If you're serious about talking to someone, take the time to be respectful even from a distance. It goes a long way, trust me. |
