Okay, so it was time to write something a bit more detailed in here.
I've been involved in many different facets of BDSM for years; starting way back when I didn't even really know there was a name for the feelings I had. However, I have not been a part of the community to any real extent, and this is something I would like to change. Over the years, I have any number of BDSM relationships, but have always kept that private (perhaps more often than not, at the request of my previous partners).
I am hoping now to change that and make connection with many of the people who share the same proclivities as I do :)
I have always been a Dom/Top and known this forever. For me, being a good Dom not only entails the usual (strength, discipline, physicality, and an ability to use all the 'tools' at my disposal); but it also entails a deep concern and caring for my sub -- in fact, I have always truly cherished my partners, and valued the gift of their submission.
Although I enjoy the simple play aspects of this lil that there is so much more to this. I have always felt that the journey we undertake is really a way to learn more about ourselves, to grow, and push beyond our normal boundaries to accomplish something positive.
I can't tell you how many times I have shared in the exchange of power/energy with someone and came out of an experience with greater insights into myself, and in my partner.
