Males are often criticised about sending one-line messages of introduction, their aparent lack of courtesy, and their failure to read the profile of a female thoroughly before responding. With this in mind, and not trying to be overly critical of others, I have often written very polite and detailed letters in response to advertisements, only to recieve no reply, not even a "no thank you." If men are expected to reply politely, then why not women? Is there a double standard here, and if so, why does this exhist? Common courtesy applies to males and female alike. |
