Recently I, had a conversation about why so many submissives and slaves we know have been released. To both of us it seemed like these people were being discarded far faster and easier in the bdsm lifestyle than in the vanilla world. Yeah true a collared submissive (or switch) or a slave with a contract, do not have a legal document such as a marriage license to stand behind. Of course if both the dominant and submissive parties are married this may not apply. But does the fact that a realtionship in this lifestyle, not have a formal document to back it up make it any less sacred? God I hope not! Then why does it seem that so many are released quite so easily and effortlessly? As my girl stated to me " do married couples get divorced if one of the parties goes back to school to better them selves or is one of the married served when they have to go to the side of a family member thats ill or in some type of other need"? Or worse is someone booted from the marriage, if the parties have a disagreement over trivial matters? No not usually is all I could think of. If your partner goes back to school you usually support them emotionally, intellectually and or financially. If a family member is in need you stand beside your partner in the most difficult of times. And rarely have I seen people in front of a judge getting the marriage dissolved due to a disagreement, thats unless you are in Hollywood. So why then is it so easily with us? Because its convenient is all we could come up with. If the dominant doesn't want to deal with the submissive party, just release them and wash their hands of the whole ordeal. This seems to be the general consensus anymore. So is it wonder that there are so many jaded and disillusioned subs, switches, and slaves out there. Is it any wonder so many of them have said I give up on all this. It shouldn't be. What's so upsetting, is that this wasn't always so.There was a time when honor, respect, love, and tradition meant something and prevented all this. Aweee how I miss the old days before the internet and all the "domabees". All I can do is hope that this trend reverses its self before it really takes its toll on us all.
