About subspacepilot2

Oh heck, I'm a licensed nurse... Need I say any more as to why I have no photo here?

Not that there would be any connection, kink versus patient care--that would be ludicrous. But still... I'd be pretty stupid to place a photo.

Divorced, more than a full-time job--I'd enjoy a friend, perhaps dinner, or just emails or chat on occasion.

BSDM//D/s, or whatever... we are what we are, but underlying it all, well, it's almost impossible to find the counterpart one to another. Though I'll admit that I once though I had... but that's ancient history.

Today, I've a job that I enjoy, and not enough free time. But on occasion I do sometimes miss communicating with a person who can identify with my deepest desires, though frankly, today, it's too difficult, and too dangerous to actually go there...

So, if you care to have a friend who understands...write me.

The death of D/s?

I came out of the closet around the year 2000.  How refreshing it was to see that not only was I really not that great a pervert--that there were thousands...no millions of others who shared the same, shall we say, unique interests.

Alt.com opened around that time and what a great site it was, just amazing, free, unfettered with an abundance of people joining every week.

I can't remember when Collarme came along, but it was a breath of fresh air, since alt had denigrated into something that was at first simply a bit greedy, but later it became Draconian--to the point of censoring people.  I admire CM that it has remained free, and I'll click on an ad once in a while, hoping to generate some revenue.

But things have changed--and it's not me (though I indeed have if only from age).  I set search from 18 to maximum age for NH.  During the past five months, one single woman has joined--here one day, never to return.  Mind me, I'm not complaining about those who are here, not at all--rather I'm simply noticing that 5 years ago, there would be a dozen or more joining every month.  So...a question--in five months, where have the other 59 gone?

I'm not sure about alt but recently I (foolishly) paid adultfriendfinder for a silver membership, and "why not," I thought, after all the last time I looked which was about 2007, it was a great site--vibrant, full of fun people.  Today, it is a mere remnant with very, very few real people.  In a word AFF, in my opinion is pathetic.

Is it the economy?  Has stress caused everyone to be out working multiple part-time jobs?  Is the population at large suffering from depression?  (hmmm...spanking + orgasm would help that...)

Was it Anne Rice's series, the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy which became immensely popular between ~1984-2002 which validated our kink and allowed a generation to accept themselves?  I really don't know, but I wonder.

Btw...I apologize for the giant spaces, someone needs to be spanked for putting them there!
