About Slipstreme
New News: I am now happily part of a leather family, of which I am Alpha. I am Master and lover of the slave azhanti, and Dom and lover of the subs Chris and Ed. I am NOT looking for any life partners. I am here for the boards and friends only. I may accept S&M (NO SEX!) play partners and mentors only.

Well, I just got back from an incredible journey. Spent nine days with my new family, and finally found a place I felt I belonged. We spent the first few days at Anthrocon, the biggest furry convention in the world, then a few days in NJ, where we cemented our devotion to each other. Although I tend to eye long distance relationships with skepticism, I will keep an open heart on this one. We seem to work so well together and are all hell bent and determined to make it work. I am Alpha of this pack of four. I only wish that I can lead them well, in the days to come, and perhaps years as we seek to live together.
Ed, a gentle giant, but deep thinker. He tends to keep his emotions level and calm, using humour to lighten the mood in the darkness. A romantic and sensual soul, but firm with the slave z. He puts off the image of being a strong person, but in fact is as cuddly as they come. He is a bit timid to try much on the recieving side of S&M (I tried. :P). Leans more towards vanilla activities. A dedicated gamer. A blue dragon.
Chris, a levelheaded but humourous soul. Is rather romantic. He is the gentleman, unable to let the play go too far, but is warming up to S&M (new territory). Posesses a great image of what loyalty and leadership should be. Originally thought of to be the Alpha of the pack, but passed the title to me as we got to know each other. Seems to know what is going on, although he often underestimates his own importance. A dedicated gamer and furry roleplayer. A black dragon.
azhanti, one word can sum her up: Perfect. Although prone to making some mistakes, as we all are, no one in my whole life has shown so much love, devotion, care and self-sacrifice as this slave. In personality, her and I are a lot a like, as if we were the same person, just went separate paths in D/s and life. Very wise at times, others, dense as a doornail. Has the strange ability to be clairvoyant, and just knows when things are going to work out and when they aren't. Often over-estimates her mistakes and seeks harsher punishments than she deserves. A sadomasochist, although it took me to bring the sadism out into the open, and foster deeper masochism. A dedicated gamer. A gray wolf.
Please wish me luck on this new chapter of my life. Don't look for them on collarme. I didn't meet them here :P.
The name of the family is "The Clan of the Black Rose". (Thanks Chris :P He picked it out and got us all black silk roses, although I wonder if it first started out as a joke, knowing him. It's fitting. I like it, although it sounds a bit gamer geek to me.) |

Ok, today is a day for ranting about gender specific supremacy. Those who come into the life as either Dom, sub, Switch, Master/Mistress or slave do so under their own volition and choosing. Lately I've seen a lot of male supremacy/ female supremacy showing up on the boards. This limited view assumes that theirs is the only way to go. Male supremacy, that females are supposed to be submissive. Female supremacy that males are supposed to be submissive. Never mind the female or male who is the opposite to what is expected, or the genderqueer or trans who doesn't even come up on the map! Face it, gender is more than what is or isn't between one's legs. There is so much more to a person that influences who they are, and the choices they make than what they were born as. Especially in the case of the genderqueer, the anomolous person who drifts between definition. They can't fit into the model, regardless of what they are biologically and expecting that of them is ludicris. Moving on to the whole idea that either MaleDom/femsub, or FemDom/malesub seems to be "right" way to go. This doesn't even allow for the fact that homosexuality and bisexuality exist. MaleDom/malesub and FemDom/femsub groups are just as deserving as heterosexual groupings to exist. This heterosexual view is far too narrow and limited. I'm not knocking anyone's beliefs, but please, don't go around the boards promoting your way as the only way to go about life. Reality begs to differ, otherwise those groups that don't fit the mould wouldn't be here.
For those who don't fit the model, I say Rock on! BDSM is what you choose to make it, not what someone tells you it is supposed to be. |

Today is a day of happy squees! I've met the man who may end up my Mentor! yay! Also my primary play partner has moved in. Double yay! I'm no longer looking for much as far as play/Mentoring is concerned. I believe I have found it thus far. However, as usual, I'm still interested in making friends.
Also, as a University of Florida student and noting severe lack of group, I've decided to start a UF based BDSM discussion group. If you are a Gator, an Ex-Gator, going to be a Gator, or living in the G'Ville area and don't mind us Gators, and have an interest in said group, drop me a line. I would love to hear from you! |

The more I delve into myself, the more I am beginning to realize I am not submissive in the slightest. I may change my profile description to Dominant. How Dominant has yet to be explored. However, the situation with sadomasochism remains the same: I am both and will continue to enjoy topping and bottoming with absolute glee. |

So what is this "fur" thing anyways?
Seems to be a question I get a lot lately. *grins*
ok, I'll try to describe to you what a fur, furry, furrie (any other ways of spelling it) is. But please remember, this is a highly subjective area, much like BDSM, and is based largely on what furry is to me.
In general, a fur is someone who has an appreciation for anthropomorphic (human like), often cartoonish animals. These typically look like human/ animal hybrids, and the interest can range anywhere from "Oh, that is neat looking" to "OMG, that is uber hot!" So yes, the interest in the fandom can be sexual. Most of said people have an anthropormorphic identity they picked out that goes by a separate name then theirs, but for the most part, said identity is just a nonhuman version of themselves.
Furry is a community. For the most part, many furs like to be cuddly and hang out with friends. (Doesn't everyone?) Personally, it is this aspect of being close friends with other furs, that I like so much.
Furry is art. Many furs are artistic, myself included, and make art: sculptures, paintings, drawings, comics, fursuits (costumes) you name it. This art can range anywhere from normal to flat out wierd, from G to X rated, depending on the artist. Most seem to do a range of works, myself included.
Many furs roleplay their furry identity, or fursona, or roleplay a number of anthropormorphic animals, in anything from G rated to X rated roleplays. This is a lot like gaming, writing and cybering. There really isnt much of a difference aside from that the participants are rarely human.
Some furs are your stereotypical fur: into beastiality and fursuit sex. But rarely do such people engage in those activities all the time as is portrayed by the stereotype. Also, such fetishes shouldn't be the basis of judgement, but alas, it is. There is a division in the community. Because far too many people who don't do these things are ticked off at those that do, because they too are branded by the stereotype.
Many furs are into BDSM, and many furry activities, such as the fursuiting (costuming as a furry character) have parallels to pony play and puppy play. Although, they are rarely done in a D/s context. Most furs are equals. Those into BDSM may or may not combine their furry. I do, however. ............................................ Some furs take their furry to the spiritual level, bordering on, or actually, theriantrophy (also called kin, otherkin, etc) which is a lot like Native American spiritualism mixed with modern werewolfry, and sometimes other pagan practices. Basically, you are the animal you claim to be. Most manifest animalistic traits and "shift" into their form in some way or another, usually mentally, or in trance. Some, myself included, have hightened senses, and tend to display traits as second nature, as in, it happens without us thinking about it. Im very feline. People have to deal with it, because it is a behaviour pattern I have no control over.
Note: theriantrophy is different than furry. In fact, many therians (people who are into it) don't consider themselves furs, and some actually despise them.
So yes, for the most part, us furs are harmless, if a tad wierd. Eccentric you might say. Hope this has helped you out a bit.
(I know I'm weirding you out, and honestly, I accept the fact I'm weird. *another grin*)
For more information: google it. Google can give you some good information. Although as in everything, there are two sides to a story, and many stereotypes we would all do well without. So beware the source of your information. |
