It was suggested that I post some of my poetry in the journal, so, please enjoy:
We sat together in deafening silence,
Knowing what each other wanted.
But both sharing the same penance,
That our desires should be thwarted.
I opened my mouth, only to sigh,
Watching you attempting to speak
Both screaming through our eyes,
When words just seem too weak.
And as I willingly walk away,
Into that deceptively gentle night.
I stare at the last beautiful sun rays.
And wonder if I should stay and fight.
Broken hearts are Queens and Kings,
But I don't have the right cards.
And when I think about everything,
My emotions fall into shards.
We both keep trying to say its over,
without giving it a chance to start.
Yet we keep pulling each other closer,
To keep from breaking either heart.
And so we sit in brilliant darkness,
Neither wanting to be the first one,
To voice their goodbyes to romance.
But it's something that must be done.
