As much as I dislike writing profiles, I suppose I've put this one off for as long as I can get away with! Caveat from the start, so I don't forget: yes I have pictures and I know it's a huge deal breaker for some people not to have one on a profile, but just ask. I don't secretly have three eyes or one ear, and I'm not 47... I just need to be slightly careful around pictures for professional reasons which I can happily explain during conversation.
To begin with the 'vanilla'...
VANILLA
So I've only recently discovered the word sapiosexual and I loved it so much that it had to go in my username. For anyone who doesn't know, it means to be attracted to intelligence or the human mind. That's definitely a huge draw for me. My dream girl is Alice Morgan from Luther, which probably gives an indication to any TV nerds out there of what I'm drawn to in the mind.
In my spare time I like reading and writing. I play with fiction writing but I've never gotten far enough with any project to finish it as yet. My attention span isn't there for it, but I'm working on it. I also like running and am a big football fan (as with most 26 year old men I suppose!).
Other interests are fairly standard. I do play chess competitively which is unusual at my age, but by and large when I'm not working at the weekend I can be found either at the local football ground or with a drink in hand! I make regular trips to Manchester where I attended university (History Degree) and still have several friends.
NON-VANILLA
To the reason we're here! I'll try to articulate this is as best I can but as with most people it's not always a simple statement of requirements.
I like a girl who can be independent first and foremost. People need their own lives, and while I think Dom/sub can enhance a vanilla relationship, it's neither practical nor healthy to suggest you're going to make somebody live in a box under the stairs and come out for two hours on alternate Thursdays. A submissive is still a human being with basic needs like, well, occasional daylight and Netflix privileges. I would prefer somebody who agrees with the view that, while being submissive is in essence a 24/7 lifestyle choice and the dynamic would always exist, there is also a real world out there and a Dominant should be a life partner first and foremost.
Now for the contradiction. As well as being independent, I am majorly drawn to vulnerable / damaged. There's nothing more adorable than a girl with insecurities, and helping somebody to overcome that is a really valuable part of being a Dom. Instructions given / tasks set should generally not be arbitrary, unless it's a punishment of course, and should work toward helping a sub with some developmental need they have. A Dom/sub relationship has the ability to make both participants better / stronger people if done correctly, and I love getting involved in that side of it as part of the psychological aspect which I am really in to.
In play terms, I've got pretty strong experience for my age I suppose (8+ years of pretty consistent activity) and the following list (using the Collarspace interests as a basis) is made up of things that I have generally tried and would say I am comfortable with. Anything that is absent from the list is not necessarily out of the question, it just means I wouldn't say I've mastered it. By all means discuss other things if they're a major turn on for you:
