About robur
First of all - WE ARE REAL. We are looking for a lady to join us as a permanent Sisterwife. We don't swing, or play. We are very much a 50's style man in charge household.
We have a small farm in central Texas. So far, we have one baby boy (8 mos). We're looking for a special lady to join us!
We do lots of things and am always looking to do something new. I am a throwback - an old-fashioned dominant and romantic gentleman (and yes, I love Renniassance Festivals - I often work as a site engineer or as a silversmith at them!). I enjoy working with my hands - I'm almost always found tinkering with something. We both are reading addicts - everything from history to SciFi and everything in between.
Our farm in central TX has an old caved in house and barn. Most of the stuff has been cleared away (antiques and such galore!) and now we are designing a Frank Lloyd Wright type of house to build there - it is on a lovely hill that overlooks a two acre pond.
We're not totally of the grid. We have power, hi-speed internet, and water. It is pretty much the middle of nowhere though. I can see the stars at night - no light pollution. I'm pretty much away from all the rush and hassles of the city. No near neighbors, and the nearest town is 25 miles.
We love sitting in a jacuzzi or creek with a book. One of the first projects completed was a hot tub overlooking the farm and valley....
I restore convertibles (MGs and Capris), sell books online, and do a bit of architectural design and house remodeling. Keeps me from getting bored with the day job. I also do silversmithing and casting at renfaires. My wife works from home as a Network Admin.
We spend a bit of time driving and exploring the SW. I love finding new and interesting things. It is absolutely amazing what you can find off of the interstates.....
I’m really good at? I can repair or restore any car made. Build houses, tile floors (fancy mosaic or just plain geometric 'quilts'), redo bathrooms, rewire houses, pour concrete (by hand or by truck!), weld, build computers, make jewelry - I never stop doing things and love to work with my hands and mind.
I'm also good at providing companionship - a shoulder to cry on and a sympathetic ear too. I've got large and solid shoulders...
Problem solving and analysis are what I used to do for a living. I tend to be very practical and forward. As a result, I tend to get lots of folks asking for advice on all sorts of things.
As such, I tend to be someone that other people go to 'in extremis' - that is to say when no one else can or will help them or fix the problem.
I'm very direct. About as subtle as a battleship in a bathtub.
On a typical night I am working until I am worn out, then we watch a movie. Or read books. Or drive into the sunset, looking for the strange and unusual. Or sit by a roaring bonfire watching the stars.
