I've been in this lifestyle for most of my adult life. I'm a Daddy Dom. Which means I'm not always the strict hard ass, but don't let the soft caring side fool you, I take no flack when I mean business. I'm also a sadist. I've been through the ringer over the last 12 years in my relationships and have no time for footloose or flighty floozies. Over the years, I've met dozens of people in the lifestyle and the only thing I can say is that the ones that are truly about the lifestyle, the ones who really crave and enjoy their particular role, are FEW and FAR between. I'm sick of meeting half-hearted people, or people who use "kinky" as a way to get laid. I think that some people are just into it because its slowly becomming the "in thing."
