I was out doing errands, and saw a sign for a Chinese temple. I drove over, my curiosity piqued. The building was from the gold rush days, when men from every part of China flocked to California with dreams of fortune. Three gods sat on the alter. One from Confucian, one from Taoist and one from Buddhist tradition. There was a spot on the alter for people to bring their own house gods to visit the temple and rules for respecting each person's beliefs while worshiping your own way.

I sometimes think about "being nice" as a mistress. It is natural to feel such overwhelming responsibility and nurturing towards a submissive. Yet, what a submissive needs isn't what fits into the category of "nice." A submissive is happiest when overwhelmed by a dominating presence, someone who guides their passions and pushes them to be more than they are. Only on the crying edge of pain and uncertainty can a submissive be fully used, and only then do you help them prove themselves, and find their keenest pleasure.

Tonight I am thinking of what turns me on most. I think it is honesty. Not the Disney happy version, but the kind that comes from pain. Not the physical version (alone), but the pain of admitting we are only social creatures out of fear and that sexual torment is what it takes for us to live, whichever side of the whip you are on.
