I've been thinking lately about what masculinity means to me. I find I'm only ever interested in men that I find masculine but what exactly qualifies them as masculine is hard to pin-point. I think back to the characterisitcs of men I've dated or admired and a key quality I can identify is masculinity. But what is masculinity?!
I suppose that some I found physically masculine, while others were masculine in more subtle ways. So subtle in fact that while I consider them masculine I can't say why!
It wasn't that they acted in stereotypically 'male' ways. I actually hate gender stereotypes and find it quite boring to be around people inhibited by their gender role, so that doesn't really help. It could be their confidence and how comfortable they are in their own skin, it could be the shape of their shoulders, it could be their voice. Maybe it's simply chemical.. maybe it's pheromones! That's the easy answer, lol.
And what of femininity? What does it mean to be feminine? I'll have to think about this some more. Hmmmmmmmm. :P

I've never understood submissives that try and manipulate dominants in order to get their way. What's the pay-off? So you've gotten your way. Has it reinforced the dynamic? Is your relationship improved because of it? Probably not. I see this as a breach of trust. A submissive trusts the dominant to dominate, just as the dominant trusts the submissive to submit. There's no competition between the dominant and the submissive, so this really has no place within a D/s relationship. To me, this signifies the relationship coming to an end.

If your submission means so little to you that you would offer it to a stranger you're contacting for the first time, why on earth would it be of any value to me?
