I love the sexual side of BDSM but to me it can go far beyond that. In the film inception there is the concept of a conscious life with multiple nested dreams, each one moving more slowly so in the deepest dream time almost stands still and empires can be built. I think of bdsm a lot like this. We all have our vanilla lives but then there are places we go to dream and play. When we do this we are able to build trust and connection in a way that short circuits the time needed to do so normally. These are our empires being built between us and no-one but us gets to know.
I think that concept of moving between lives is an important one to me. My life does not currently allow for 24-7 so I think of my submissive as a television. I own it and I have the remote control but there are different channels depending on circumstance and mood. Some days I might want vanilla channel and a romantic dinner, fine wine and good conversation. Others I might want sprinkles...vanilla base with some twists! Other times I might choose more intense channels or binge a box set! ;) |
