He was right about one thing. We didn’t sell furniture – we sold cooked meats and reformed chicken products.

So I’m a houseboy. No, seriously. I’m probably the best there is too, if enthusiasm and dedication counts for anything. But if being accident prone and a serial houseplant killer are your deal breakers, you may think otherwise. I used to be a bit embarrassed about the whole houseboy thing but not any more. My position is valued and respected by those who matter to me, and that’s what counts. Having said all that, I hate housework. I do not have a housework fetish, and nor am I a maid or a TV. It’s just something I do, you know, a very real and practical show of devotion if you like. It’s an interesting aspect of my submission, but only one of many.

I like to describe myself as a psychological masochist and a physical coward. Apparently being this way makes me interesting and amusing to reap violence upon. Go figure. I love some of the rituals and drama associated with corporal punishment but I can rarely keep still through them. If you’ve ever tried to catch a live fish with your bare hands you’ll have a reasonable idea of what playing with me can be like. I’m very serious about play - I love it, and it can be a fantastic motivator for me - but I’m just as serious about the fun it should be. Most of the best scenes I have been involved in are as memorable for their silliness and fits of laughter as anything more (supposedly) profound.
