argh... Beer Fest is this weekend which means Wed through Mon I am pulling 20 hour days with a bunch of drunks. Its a great time being there... not so fun working it. These times I don't enjoy being an event planner

I take great pride in my ability to write and learned at a young age that the key to being a successful writer was to formulate a plan and lay it out before hand. This is one of those times where I started writing a response to someone and realized I had gotten off on a tangent and had no clue where it was going..... I engage in M/s relationships every day professionally, only the M stands for Mentor. I enjoy being a mentor and I intimidate a lot of people but I do so with my brain not my mouth. I'm not one to yell ever and on certain things I rarely even get mad. I mean if someone can't control their own emotions, how can they expect to control someone else? If I set forth a rule in my job and someone disobeys it, there is a consequence attached and generally it's laid out ahead of time. For example I coach University sports. My easiest rule is be to the park ready to warmup at a prescribed time. If you are late for any reason at all, you don't play. Many of my players have a problem believing that I'm not mad when they break the rule. They believe they have to come apologize to me a hundred times when it happens and explain to me everything that led to their infraction. They actually believe I'm personally going to be mad at them. I try to explain I'm not mad if you just live with the consequence. If you were to break the rule, no matter if it was your fault or not, and get mad at having to live with the consequence, that is only when I would get angry. I understand that life gets in the way of planning sometimes. Were they late because there was an accident on the 401? For sure, but they could have left earlier instead of only giving themselves enough time to get there on a normal day. I had a freshman show up late last season and she comes to the park, walks up to me apologizes and then goes through her pre-game routine as if nothing happened. The game starts and she sits the entire game and helps out with scoring, wrapping muscles, etc. The entire game we're chatting and joking around and the second game that day she's in the lineup. After the day ends she walked up to me and said listen there was a huge accident on the 401 which is why I was late this morning but I wanted to thank you for mot making me feel bad for showing up late. I told her you broke a rule and paid the consequence, that's punishment enough, there's no need for me to make you feel any worse.

I got the unique opportunity to spend an hour with him on Thursday night with 6 others and it was an unbelievable experience! This man is a body language expert and only works one-on-one with Prime Ministers or Presidents. He is Harper and Blair's personal coach, and after he went through an hour's worth of technique's I firmly believe he is the sole person responsible for winning Harper the election.
