i went to deliver a boat yesterday....three hour drive to a remote quiet...note on the door said to wait...i took a walk over the property...a 40 acre seaside retreat...a piece of heaven...everything about the place felt expansive...the salt breeze the old grown spruce the rolling landscape the ponds with lily pads and lap of the water against the rocks...the winding pathways and old stone walls...and on the drive there i have seen for a second time in nova scotia a promise of a monument to prince henry sinclair a scottish noble who along with a band of protestant french visited and spent two years in nova scotia in 1398....a new and curious bend on history for anyone not familiar with this man and his transatlantic voyage.... |

In the cosmic scheme of things what is a Dom really?....if calm and patient submission to the greater laws that rule this world we live in...then are we not all submissives? I look at my own nick and although it was a creation from idealistic and perfectionistic ages ago i still see something in that nick that is fathomable of a Dom's innermost purpose....Excalibura...no matter how amateur a semantist one may be it is impossible to see the root of that nick...that oh excalibur...a divine sword in a human hand might lead the way and bring light to the one who wields it...quite a grand admission of a young dom....today i look at it and wonder if one this journey of life and the character that develops as each chip and flake flies off that rough ashlar that is our soul is not only as our admission and acceptance of authority but also as our own hands deliver transforming discipline carving rough ashlars into stones for that spiritual building not made so much with hands yet eternal in the heavens.
