5/31/2011: I figure it's time for a major profile overhaul since I haven't really changed anything since joining. Hopefully this will help you understand what I'm looking for.
First and foremost, I'm looking for a parter. Flings are a thing of the past for me, and now I want someone I can build a lasting relationship with. Should D/s be a major part of the relationship? Yes. Is it the only thing? No. I don't seek a 24/7 or slave arrangement, but rather, a relationship with someone who enjoys D/s, but is also comfortable being "just a girlfriend" at times. Here's the analogy I make: If you meet someone at the tennis court, it doesn't mean you have to play tennis ALL THE TIME to have a healthy relationship.
Some things that are essential:
- Shared interests (both kinky and vanilla)
- Curiosity (both kinky and vanilla)
- Live in or very near Chicago
- Be in my age range (24-ish to 33-ish)
- A desire to have FUN in all aspects of life -- "fun" is a word I see way too rarely on CM.
I see the Dom and sub as two sides of the same coin, so the relationship should be about mutual goals, not some a-hole Dom treating a woman like property. I'm hoping to find someone I can have an honest, happy and kinky relationship with. More than any single tool or activity, I believe the key to a good bdsm relationship is the mind. Our brains can do more than any rope, crop or paddle ever could (not to say I don't like those things). I want to find a special person to share that deep mental bond with.
Another thing that's very important to me: I have a deep respect for subs. People don't become subs because they dislike themselves and want to be abused, they do it because they understand the joy of trusting someone in a sexually charged context.
