I like the idea that a slave should be required to earn the right to fulfill his basic needs. Things like eating, sleeping, using the bathroom, and so on. The notion that slaves don't need entertainment, or basic things like furniture, is appealing to me. I think that the slave's primary goal should be to fulfill the needs and wants of his owner. His own needs come second, and only when granted by the owner.
