Seeking to explore my dominant side.
ISO sub (m or f) willing to assist me on my journey, and/or a Dom/me willing to offer guidance and support.

I would have thought that this would go without saying, but apparently it doesn't, so...
Communication is the key to any relationship, especially D/s. Please be able to tell me about yourself, about your likes and dislikes, both vanilla and kink. And I'm not looking for a doormat... Have opinions, interests, limits!
Also, friendship is the foundation to any (voluntary) relationship, especially long-term. After all, why would you want to spend time with someone you didn't like? So, please, be able to give me some sense of who you are as a person and let's get to know each other before you start wanting to be dominated.
Where am I coming from? have I been in the lifestyle long? First, define long and define lifestyle. *L* Anyhow, it's kind of a long story, but here goes.
I've been interested in bdsm for a long time, even before I knew what it was, from a submissive standpoint at first.
About 10 years ago or so, I discovered Gorean roleplay rooms online, and created a slave character. I enjoyed the rp, but not the bs, so dropped that character and created a Free Woman. (Just as much bs but I didn't have to put up with most of it.)
And that is how I met Elisa. She was my slave in Gorean rp, and a submissive in real time. We became friends, and discussed a lot of topics. She kept telling me I'd be a good Domme...
A few years into my Gorean days, I met someone who became incredibly special to me. I was a FW, and he was rp'ing a male slave (who belonged to a friend of mine.) The two of us clicked from the outset. We were always on the same wavelength and we'd get on a riff and leave everyone else in the room baffled.
And we became friends outside of the room. He was rp'ing a slave, had been both sub and Dom in real time, but identified primarily as a Dom.
After the room closed, our friendship went even further, and I ended up in his collar. Long distance (he lives in Dallas) but very very real. I had plans to visit, and to eventually move there, but...
How do you make the gods laugh?
Make plans.
Mike had a stroke, but was recovering. He then had a relapse and hasn't been able to be online. His speech centers were affected so he can't even talk on the phone. It's been over a year and a half (closer to 2 years) since we've had any kind of real contact.
I still love him, but have to face the fact that it's unlikely that our relationship will ever resume. I seriously doubt that I could ever submit to anyone the way I did to him.
So, armed with Elisa telling me that I'd make "a great Domme" and Mike's previous encouragement to spread my wings and explore my dominant side, here I am, nervously starting out on something almost new to me.
And I think that somewhere in there is an answer to the questions.
