About curiousnewby

As Moon does affect tide;
So do the stars in mine Master's eyes.
As they dance and fall into me;
And whisper their desires into the sea.

Greetings!

I am on this site to keep in touch with friends. As such, I am not interested in any type of companionship other than that of the platonic variety.

I’ve been in the life style for a few years now (but aware of it all my life) and I have learned enough to know that I still don’t know NEARLY enough. I am living that seamless blend of Vanilla\Lifestyle and hope one day to make it to a life long ownership. One where both people are loved, cherished and protected by each other, where one can feel safe enough to surrender to the other knowing deep at their core that they are always protected. Yet together, they are oak; Strong enough to weather any storm.

If I had to best describe my type of submission it would be as a Queen’s Knight, and for my queen I would tilt at windmills and slay giants should she command. I am not a sissy nor a doormat. I am clever, independent, moral, open minded, forgiving, communicative, interesting, processing of dry wit and biting cynicism, compassionate, happy and, generally, a lot of fun. I like who I am and I thank God for finding a partner who shares my outlook on life.

If you want to know more, then drop me a line. Who knows? The worst that could happen is you make a new friend today.
Thanks
~Curious
This was my old Profile. I still like it enough to keep it around, but maybe it was too long and pie in the sky for people who read it. I have a feeling it might have been too specific and maybe a bit imposing. I am lightening up my profile, but if you ever wanted to know what I am about...here it is.

Hi!

I have been active in the life style for two years now but have been interested in it since I can remember. It?s always been a nameless itch that I could never ever fully scratch and one that I could never ever fully ignore.

Well, no more pretending it doesn?t exist, no more hiding, no more not being true to myself. It?s not really as deep and dark as all that, it?s just, in the grand scheme of things, I?d like my next relationship to be true and without any mis-direction or lies as to what I really need to be happy.

So the question is ?What do I need to be happy?? Well, I?ve thought about this long and hard and I believe I have finally accepted what it is; I would like to find a life long partner to which I can serve and surrender to. Be totally open with and with whom I can build a relationship that will last a lifetime.

With this person, we would be limitless and we could spoil each other and make each other happy. She would want to own me mind, body and soul. Know all of my secrets and still love me for them. I would worship her strength and never let her forget that I am her biggest fan, supporter and greatest friend and confidant.

Yes, it really is that simple.

I am looking for a Long term relationship. Now, when I say long term, I mean I am not wired to date a lot of people and play around. I need to meet someone who understands that this is the view I have of them going into that first meeting. I am not looking for right now, I am viewing you as a prospective long term partner and mate. If it doesn't work out then that?s fine, there is SO much more to establishing a relationship than D/s. There is chemistry, compatibility, respect, trust, lust, desire and that thing that happens when you two look across a room and have your eyes meet causing butterflies to go CRAZY in your stomach.

The way I view D/s is, it is the DELICIOUS part of the relationship that brings us closer than anything else ever could. It would be a core principal as to how we communicate without words and fundamental to our relationship.

But

It?s not the reason why we are together. We are a pair because we genuinely like each other and need each other outside of D/s. We share interests and loves and passions outside of this. Art, Long Walks, vigorous debate, geeky pursuits, Silliness as well as all the good and bad times between.

I need the whole package, not a one night stand or random play time. She has to be articulate, sassy, kind, whip smart, sexy (remember sexy is in the mind), fiery and a compassionate one-man-kind-of-woman who really knows how to challenge me. Someone equally at ease in the vanilla world as our private. Open to sharing as much of herself I would share with her.

As for me? I?m just a regular guy. Outwardly everyone I know respects my opinions and people come to me for leadership when situations warrant. I?m a take charge kinda guy, fully employed and love what I do. I?m funny, clever, kind, honest, have a big heart, open minded and possessing good morals and like to treat everyone as I would like to be treated. I am a BIG believer of the second chance and know to err is human. I am just another human being. Looking for that special one who could accept and love me for who I am.

If I try to describe my submission, I would say that I am not submissive at all. I stand down to no one, no one, that is, except for that special lady. She is the only one I ever could imagine myself submitting to. She is the one who truly understands me, she is the only one deserving. Her grace, presence and beauty truly makes me want to be a better man. Her beautiful soul forces her to stoop to conquer, and even then I would always feel unworthy. As the Moon to the Tides, she drives my submission just by her presence.

I would love to find this person. Someone I could laugh with, share with and submit to and welcome the world we could build together.

What a wonderful world it could be.
Things I learned from my last relationship;

1. A smile is worth a Thousand words.
2. Just because it hurts doesn?t mean it?s not good.
3. I can take a lot more than I thought I ever could.
4. Sometimes the glamour of the imagination clouds the cold reality of the situation.
5. Put a thousand Dommes in a room, get a thousand definitions of dominance and submission. All, amazingly, will be correct.
6. All Dommes hurt in their own way.
7. Sometimes, getting is not as nice as wanting.
8. It is so amazing never having to hide who you are.
9. A cuddle is worth a thousand gifts.
10. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, things just won?t end up the way you thought.

There are more, but those are the top things in my mind. For all the ups and downs and pain at the end of my last relationship, I still would never trade it for the world.

At least, that's how I see it.

"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good."
- Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
The word "character" originated from the Greek words meaning "sculpture" and "impression."

Character, then, could be thought of that which is shaped or etched. It may be true, from a medical perspective, that our psychological and physiological traits are generally predetermined genetically, but knowing this, however, adds little to our lives.

All that matters is how we can better ourselves here and now.

Is it just me? Or is that blonde kid in Poltergeist really REALLY freaky??

Recently, I wrote to a domme a letter of introduction. I thought it was a very nice letter. I was polite, witty, intelligent, didn?t give a laundry list and was positive throughout. The response I got back was;

?I would never ever associate with you publicly or in any other circumstances?

And I was like ?WHOA! Where did THAT come from???!? So, thinking it was me, because I am the newby, I wrote away to two domme pen pals of mine asking just what I had done wrong in my letter, both agreed it was fine and they didn?t have a clue as to what the issue was.

But, still, the totality of this letter bothers me. I mean, NEVER? NEVER EVER Associate with me? Like if you were in a parking lot with your hands full of groceries and you dropped your car keys you would NEVER EVER accept my assistance of picking them up for you? That kind of never ever? Wow! I must have upset you something awful.

Or, maybe she was having a bad day.

Either way the damage is done, and that?s another domme I have to scratch off my list. Sigh?the list does seem to get shorter doesn?t it? But you know, if there is one rule that I have lived by, and it has served me pretty well, it?s;

?Be good to strangers, because we all were strangers once?

Now, I am not suggesting this dome should have sent me flowers and a great big plushie bear with a note saying ?Sorry, not interested? but a LITTLE civility does go a long way. Better she say nothing than MAKE the effort to insult, especially unprovoked as she was.

Dommes, I know your time on CM is precious. I know you are bombarded with hundreds of e-mails every day and I am sorry that the majority of them are from cavemen barely able to utter two syllables without reaching for their clubs. I can do nothing about that. But remember two things;

1) Be nice. If you have the energy to reply to something, try to be nice. Throwing negative energy in response to negative energy is wasteful and emotionally exhausting. Nothing gets accomplished and you don?t feel any better. But better you not reply to a letter than reply with something like what I received. All that did was make me feel that I had wasted my time ever looking at you and you were so not worth my consideration.

2) Not everyone on this site has an angle, or is looking for an advantage. Some are genuinely looking for something better in their lives and they thought maybe you could be it. Be careful of becoming SO streetwise on CM that you loose that wonderful sense of ?what if?. Jaded Cynicism is self defense at the expense of hope and optimism. Make sure you protect yourself, by all means, but not so completely that nothing can get through your defenses and all approaches are equally struck down, false and sincere. Judge me for me, not upon all those who came before me and disappointed you.

I do not believe any of us joined this site to be rude and insulting to each other. I definitely don?t believe we continue on this site to harass and make others feel bad about their choices. We are all looking for something better. You, Me, Them, He, She, Those over there, all of us. We all set the tone of the community we inhabit. That?s right! We all make our CM personal experience as good or as bad as it is based upon our treatment of each other, so let?s just take it easy out there shall we? Let?s not make our first reaction always to be that we need to go and grab a hold of some big rock every time someone draws near.

Who knows? It?s up to you, really. But wouldn?t it be nice to think ?what if? again?

At least, that?s the way I see it.

A couple of days ago I happen to stumble into one of CM?s fine chat rooms. Ended up in a FemDom one, and it was nice for about 10 minutes until I got booted for saying I didn?t think much of Elise Sutton.

Now, don?t get me wrong, I AM embarrassed for somehow enraging the moderators of the chat room so greatly that they saw the need to boot me. So embarrassed, that I slunk away with my tail between my legs and called it a night feeling very foolish and silly. I don?t mind being in the minority, but I DO mind not being allowed to explain myself and just getting ganked.

Now, just for the record, Elise Sutton is not the Alpha and Omega of Female Dominance. She?s just another person, making her way in the world, and she found methods that worked for her to attain her goals and she built a philosophy around it. And anyone can go to her site and read about it or purchase any number of her books and gather her wisdom unto them should they so choose. But what you have to remember, Mrs. Sutton is ONLY telling you what worked for her. And anything she does should not be blindly followed because then you only succeed in having her train your sub to suit her needs not yours. Like all ?How To? Books, whether it be Sutton or Bellemare or Abernathy or Akasha, you have to pick and choose what you read to tailor fit what you want to accomplish. Every Domme has to find a style as unique as she is.

So anyways, I just wanted to take this moment to explain myself and why I think Elise Sutton isn?t all that and a bag of chips.

Ready?

The biggest issue I have with Elise Sutton is her philosophy of Female Superiority. So you maybe reading this and say ?SO!??! Women are SUPERIOR YOU WORM!!!? to which I feel I need to respond with, No, YOU are superior. There?s a Big difference, and beholding to a philosophy that acknowledges NOTHING about you as an individual (not your experience, your spirit, your personality or ANYTHING else about you) matters. And the only reason you should be worshipped is because you are female.

PPPFFFTTTTTTT?.

Go back through time and you WILL find MANY grand theories by very respected and honored persons all espousing the same crap.

Black Supremacy
White Supremacy
Master Aryan Race

And the List just goes on and on. And each was wrong then, although at the time they had many, many believers, and they are all still just as wrong now.

I always thought Men and Women are different but equal. It's a shame that one would look at the differences and see only a reason to justify a Superior cause and reason why they should be unjustly elevated. It's the differences that make us compliment each other, make us come together and love each other. It's not a reason why one should rule over the other.

Mark my words, superiority based upon genetics has NEVER served it's creators well, nor how they ever imagined. It's a slippery slope that hurts everyone, and totally devalues the those being vaunted as ?Superior? by reducing them to binary genetic ?1??s and ?0??s and not respecting, nor bringing into the equation, who they are as individuals.

Yes ladies, those of you Superior as so because of WHO you ARE. Not because of the Double ?X? chromosome, some fluke at time of conception.

So, yes, I am submissive, but it is not becuase I am male. It is simply who I am. I won?t just fall over with my legs in the air if a woman commands it. I am looking to surrender only to one woman, and she is going to have to prove to me how superior she is as a person before I will offer her my soul.  OH MY GOD! What the heck am I thinking huh??!!

And Yea, I know it will probably mean I end up dying alone. But better that than perpetuate a lie that would hurt so many, to make a few feel better about themselves.

And THAT?S why I am not too impressed with Elise Sutton. Just would have been nice, before getting kicked from that chat room, if I could have been given a chance to defend myself. Maybe one of the good people in the chatroom might have responded with "Why do you think that?" and then an honest discussion and exchange of ideas could begin.

Because, after all, if a theory is sound, it SHOULD be able to stand up to examination and debate. Not just stated as fact and any attempt to discuss it be squashed without mercy.

I would always advise you to never accept doctrine as a suitable alternative to debate.

At least, that?s how I see it

I am trying to decide if the Button labeled "Games" being above the Button labeled "Read Mail" is symbolic of something or not on this site.

Maybe it was just chance that brought these two buttons side by side, but maybe not...one never really knows.

I can't decide. It remains a mystery. A Riddle wrapped around an ennigma...

The things I ponder...

I wonder why some dommes sound SO angry in their bios. I mean, I read some of them and my corneas just about blister off. Seriously, I just cringe.

This cannot be the way they want to be regarded. I mean, unless there is some "Angry Crank Shrew" fetish that I am not aware of. And even if there was, half of these bios come off SO angry that these good people all seem close to stress induced aneurysms. And who wants a dead domme as a partner ?? Ewwwwww..... Dead Domme Cooties... Ewwwwww

Look, I can appreciate you've been disappointed by posers, losers, wankers, pretenders, little boys and [insert unflattering adjective here]. Join the club.

We've all been disappointed at some point in our search, and yes, *GASP* sometimes we've even been disappointed MULTIPLE times. OH MY! So you are not experiencing anything unique or new under the sun. It's not like you jumped in and took the bullet for us all. We all get pasted pretty much equally on CM.

What should define you as a domme is not your terrible, terrible anger but the grace you display in disposing of these distractions from your life and carrying on. Not ranting like some five year old who wants candy RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

Nothing is as unappealing as raw frustration coupled with naked, unfocused rage.

At least, that's the way I see it.

GAWD I Hate Text.

I mean, How can something MEANT to be used for communication lead to SO many mis-understandings ? I know, because, we, as humans, have to muddy everything up with body language and subtlety and subtext.

Sometimes I KNOW what I am typing is going to send me off a cliff, because there is just no way to capture intent in the cold written word.

And sometimes, the cliff is preferable to who I am writing to when I see how they respond.

Ahhh well, nothing to be done I suppose. Just the nature of the beast in the 21st century.

Well, lets see now;

Smart? CHECK!
Interesting? CHECK!
Funny? CHECK!
Life in Order and in a good space for a relationship? UN-Check.

Crap.

Well, I don?t regret jumping in with both feet. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It?s just how I love. But sort of a drag that something that showed so much promise ended up fizzling out so totally. We?ve agreed to be friends. Oh Goodie! That?s just what I need more of! Lol. But, ladies, if you contact me, make sure you have room in your life for someone else.

It takes two people to make a relationship work.

Oh my God!

It's enough to make someone wonder about public education sometimes. Poor things, getting their grade 12's and still unable to read...

Just got a very strange e-mail from a male gay submissive asking me to consider him. And to be honest, it shook me up enough to double check my profile. I mean, did it say I was a gay dom instead of the straight sub??? No, it clearly says Straight Sub. So I was looking at this e-mail and going "What the HELL???"

Well, sent an e-mail back to the guy saying sorry man, check your profiles better next time. But Geez... it's sorta creepy that the guy poured out his little heart to a person who could never ever return the sentiment. I hope he finds what he is looking for.

But as long as we are on the topic of Male Doms, whats with all the Male Doms checking out my profile?? Again... sorta uncomfortable. THAT coupled with the e-mail sent made me wonder if there was something up with my profile... lol

Ahhh well, to each their own I suppose.
