About CarlRayLouk

I was born at 5:31 PM January 9, 1974 at Petersburg General Hospital now known as Southside Regional Medical Center. I was raised in Prince George County were I still live with my Dad. When I was born the doctors discovered that I had a lot of little tumors in my left kidney. So the second day of my life I had an operation to remove my left kidney. It was in the hospital that I earn my nickname Tiger. It took five nurses to hold me down; they told my mom that I fought like a Tiger, so it stuck. I have two older brothers and two older sisters. I am the baby of the family. My oldest bother Bobby, October 20, 1961, died of sudden infant syndrome, October 20, 1962, so I never knew him. Then my mom had Lennie, September 16, 1963, then Sharon, February 9, 1965, then Barbara, August 16, 1969 and finally me, January 9, 1974. I am not totally Gothic, but I have Gothic Tendencies I normally dress in Black Jeans or Black Dickey Pants and Black T shirt and Black Tennis shoes. I have Brown hair, Brown eyes, and an Overweight figure, 353.6 lbs., standing 6'0 tall. I don't smoke, and I drink socially/occasionally. My Religion: Christian, My Denomination: Evangelical Southern Baptist, My Political Party Affiliate: Republican, and My Ideology: Conservative. I love horror movies and stories. I always have been into the supernatural, unnatural and occult stuff. I can remember in elementary school going to the school library and looking up books on Big Foot and the Lockness Monster and Vampires and Werewolves. Vampires have always been my favorite, followed closely by Werewolves. I read Dracula, my all time favorite book, every October since I was a junior in High School back in 1991. My Motto is: You improvise, you adapt, you over come. Surrender is not in my creed. My Louk Family Crest is the Phoenix: A legendary Arabian bird said to periodically burn itself to death and emerges from the ashes as a new phoenix; according to most versions only one phoenix lived at a time and it renewed itself every 500 years.

Full Snow Moon - February Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February's full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.

High tide of psychic powers, helpful in all types of magic, this is a powerful time where energy is in abundance. Magical rites are amplified as energy is in its zenith. Full moon magic works best in a seven-day cycle - three priors, the night of, and three after.

So, remember while you are out tonight shopping or going to the movies or even clubbing to watch for Werewolves for they will be out tonight "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the Full Snow Moon is bright." When the Full Snow Moon grows fat, a paralyzing fear sweeps through land. For snarls that sound like human words can be heard whining through the wind. And all around are the footprints of a monster whose hunger cannot be sated....Cycle of the Werewolf is here.

I will be celebrating the Full Snow Moon by watching Werewolf movies all night. I will watch one or all these Werewolf movies on DVD.

Cycle of the Werewolf

By Stephen King

In the Stinking Darkness under the barn, he raised his Shaggy head. His yellow, stupid eyes gleamed. I hunger, he whispered.? Henry Ellender The Wolf

Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November, all the rest but the Second have thirty-one, Rains and snow and jolly sun, and the moon grows fast in every one.â?? Childs Rime

Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.

Love, Stella Randolph thinks, lying in her narrow virgins bed, and through her window streams the cold blue light of a St. Valentines Day full moon.

Oh love, love, love would be like-

This year Stella Randolph, who runs the Tarkers Mill Set n Sew, has received twenty Valentines- one from Paul Newman, one from Robert Redford, one from John Travolta even one from Ace Frehley from the rock group Kiss. They stand open on the bureau across the room from her, illuminated in the moons cold blue light. She sent them all to herself, this year as every year.

Love, would be like a kiss at dawn or the last kiss, the real one, at the end of the Harlequin romance stories love would be like roses in twilight

They laugh at her in Tarkers Mills, yes, you bet. Small boys joke and laugh at her from behind their hands (and sometimes, if they are safe across the street and Constable Neary isn?t around, they will chant Fatty-Fatty-Two-By-Four in their sweet, high mocking sopranos), but she knows abut love, and about the moon. Her store is failing by inches, and she weights to much, but now, on this night of dreams with the moon a bitter blue flood through frost-traced windows, it seems to her that love is still a possibility, love and the scent of summer as he comes

Love would be like the rough feel of a mans check, that rub and scratch-

And suddenly there is a scratching at the window.

She starts up on her elbows, the coverlet falling away from her ample bosom. The moonlight has been blocked out by a dark shape-amorphous but clearly masculine, and she thinks: I am dreaming and in my dreams, I will let him come in my dreams I will let myself come. They use the word dirty, but the word is clean, the word is right; love would be like coming.

She rises, convinced that this is a dream, because there is a man crouching out there, a man she knows, a man she passes on the street nearly everyday. It is-

(love, love is coming, love has come)

But as her pudgy fingers fall on the cold sash of the window she sees it is not a man at all; it is animal out there, a huge, shaggy wolf, his forepaws on the outer sill, his rear legs buried up to the haunches in the snowdrift which crouches against the west side of her house, here on the outskirts of town.

But its Valentines Day and there will be love, she thinks; her eyes have deceived her even in her dreams. It is a man, that man, and he is so wickedly handsome.

(wickedness yes love would like wickedness)

and he has come this moon-decked night and he will take her. He will-

She throws the window up and it is the blast of cold air billowing her filmy blue nightgown out behind that tells her that this is no dream. The man is gone and with a sensation like swooning she realizes he was never there. She takes a shuddering, groping step backward and she the wolf leaps smoothly into her room and shakes itself, spraying a dreamy sugar puff of snow in the darkness.

But love! Love is like is like like a scream-

Too late she remembers Arnie Westrum, torn apart in the railroad shack to the west of town only a month before. Too late

The wolf pads toward her, yellow eyes gleaming with cool lust. Stella Randolph backs slowly towards her narrow virgins bed until the back of her pudgy knees strike the frame and she collapses upon it.

Moonlight parts the beasts shaggy fur in a silvery streak. On the bureau the Valentine cards shiver minutely in the breeze from the open window; one of them falls and seesaws lazily to the floor, cutting the air in big silent arcs.

The wolf puts its paw up on the bed, one on either side of her, and she can smell its breath hot, but somehow not unpleasant. Its yellow eyes stare into her.

Lover she whispers, and closes her eyes.

It falls upon her.

Love is like dying.

The Story of Valentine's Day

February 14th is Valentines Day - a worldwide celebration of love and romance, marked by giving red roses and chocolate hearts or by sending valentines.

Often derided as a "Hallmark holiday," Valentines Day - also known as Saint Valentines Day - is certainly a boom for greeting card companies, florists and chocolatiers. But long before the mass marketing, Valentines Day was still a high point for courtly love.

So, how and where did the holiday get its start? And who is Saint Valentine and why has he become the symbol for love?

For starters, Saint Valentine is probably not just one man, but rather any of a number of martyred saints named Valentine or Valentinus, derived from the Latin word for valor. According to Christian tradition, all of these Saint Valentines are believed to have been martyred on February 14.

The first Valentinus, Valentine of Rome, was a priest and doctor, who treated even those patients who could not afford to pay him. The second Saint Valentine was beheaded for protecting Christians from the Romans. And the third is Valentine of Terni, a bishop believed killed during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian.

While these saints likely bestowed upon Valentines Day its name, they still do not explain the holiday's love connection. To understand that, one has to go back even further in history - to the Romans.

Historians believe that the holiday of love derives its origins from the ancient Roman feast of Lupercalia. On February 15, the Romans celebrated the Feast of Lupercus, to honor and thank the wolf god who watched over the Roman shepherds and their flocks.

While Lupercus doesn't seem to have much to do with romance, there was a number of fertility customs associated with his feast. In one of these rituals, women would put their names on slips of paper in a box, to be drawn out by men. The two would then be coupled up for the duration of the festival - or for the rest of the year in some cases. This fertility-friendly feast gives some clue as to the romantic - or at least procreative - nature of the holiday. But we don't celebrate Saint Lupercus Day on February 14th. So, how did the Valentine saints become associated with the Roman god?

Legend has it that in the 3rd century, the Roman emperor Claudius II banned marriages to prevent draft dodgers. Only single men had to go into the army - and too many young men were getting married.

A Christian priest named Valentinus of Rome ignored the ban, continuing to officiate marriages in secret. Valentinus was caught and sentenced to death - an order carried out on February 14. Another story tells of a priest named Valentinus who was jailed and later executed for helping Christians. He fell for his jailer's daughter and sent her plaintiff love notes signed "from your Valentine".

In the late 5th century, Emperor Gelasius declared February 14th a holy day in honor of Valentinus (probably the first, but perhaps the second), allowing Christianity to adopt some of the love day customs previously associated with paganism.

The traditions were reworked, however, to honor the Christian martyrs. For example, instead of boys pulling girls' names from boxes, both boys and girls chose names of martyred saints to emulate for the year.

It took nearly nine centuries, until the advent of the Renaissance, for Valentines Day to return to its earlier love-based roots. With Romantic art, poetry and music flourishing, the time was ripe for a celebration of love.

CUPID

The Most Famous of Valentine Symbols

Cupid has always played a role in the celebrations of love and lovers. He is known as a mischievous, winged child, whose arrows would pierce the hearts of his victims causing them to fall deeply in love. In ancient Greece he was known as Eros the young son of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. To the Roman's he was Cupid, and his mother Venus.

One legend tells the story of Cupid and the mortal maiden, Psyche. Venus was jealous of the beauty of Psyche, and ordered Cupid to punish the mortal. But instead, Cupid fell deeply in love with her. He took her as his wife, but as a mortal she was forbidden to look at him. Psyche was happy until her sisters convinced her to look at Cupid. Cupid punished her by departing. Their lovely castle and gardens vanished with him and Psyche found herself alone in an open field.
