Finding someone who truly understands this lifestyle is next to impossible. There are the rare few who understand it reaches far past the physical aspect and understands the mental aspects of the lifestyle. You can find someone you are physically attracted to easily, but to find that connection that last beyond appearances is rare.
Too many get wrapped up in the physical looks, and forget we are all getting older, and looks fade, physical conditions fade, what's left? The physical aspects of the lifestyle are awesome, don't get me wrong. It takes a true person to the lifestyle to be able to hold someone mentally. After all, that is 3/4s of the lifestyle, the mental ability to submit and to dominate.
Anyone can be bound by the wrist and ankles, anyone can whip, spank etc. To be able to control someone by just a simple look or soft touch, takes more than physical bondage. If that makes sense.
I read so many profiles of people wanting others who are a certain weight or height, etc. They want this fantasy, or someone to make them "look" good. For me, there has to be some attraction, but attraction also comes from more than the physical look of a person. They can be super sexy, hot, etc, but have absolutely NO clue about the lifestyle or how to maintain a true D/s relationship. they have no clue that life in general throws obstacles and curve balls and for those there has to be the ability to relate to your mate in more than just the physical. You hold a person mentally, the physical is natural.
