In Awe of Gor
Edging, ever nearer, not knowing where she goes,
Towards the sound of water on little tiny toes.
Though the spray and under with eyes so wide and bright,
Steps through a curtain of water, into the brightest light.
~~~~~
Her body wet and glistening beneath the glorious sun,
Where she is, she does not know, her journey’s just begun.
Sun kissed legs beneath her, she drops to tender knees,
Tilts her head in wonder and looks towards the trees.
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
Everything is so different, it’s crisp and clear and new,
The trees they are so colourful, the sky it is so blue.
The plants and birds and the beast, she looks upon with awe
For nothing quite so wonderful has she seen before.
~~~~~
With ebony eyes turn heavenly, and a smile upon her lips.
A tiny purple bird with pointed ears soars high before it dips
But what is that beyond the trees? What is it that she spies?
Hawk like birds, with men on back ~ she can’t believe her eyes
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
In awe and in wonder, from the bright sun, she shades her eyes,
With the reflection from the water, impossible, though she tries
Taut legs move from beneath her, firm calves and nimble toe
The sparkle from the water tempting, in dainty feet must go
~~~~~
What was that, that touch her? With bulbous eyes that shined
A fish, that comes on to the rocks? This must be in her mind
But no, it walked upon its fins, and took a breath of air
Sat upon the rock, it turns and sits, with bulbous eyes to stare
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
The silvery water ripples as fish leap and splash and play
The colours of the rainbow, shimmer in a fabulous array
A shoal if tiny fishes follow, on a mammoth lizards wake
But a lizard this size is unusual, of that there’s no mistake
~~~~~
Slips into the cooling waters, she wades towards the shore
This place it does amaze her, she wants to explore more.
Each step it takes her nearer, and she climbs up the incline
Shakes of all the water, sits once more in bright sunshine
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
The heat of the sun will dry her, on the grasses she will sit
Colours, shades and hues of which, an artist pallet fit.
In browns, and blues and violets, shades to please the eye
Short and soft, tall and sharp, differences she can’t deny
~~~~~
A sea of yellow meadow flowers, blowing on the breeze.
The yellow of the flowers, mirrored in some of the trees
Flowers that look like roses, in the distance grow on a hill
There’s something about these flowers that give the girl a thrill
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
Is that a yellow antelope, with one horn upon his head?
From the trees he ventures, to the clearing he does tread
But what the creature looks for, she really does not know
Suddenly it spies her, and with fleet of foot begins to go
~~~~~
What’s the noise behind her? It coming from in the trees
Where a huge tawny feline, takes the antelope to its knees
The sight she sees does scare her, and the girl begins to leave
Some thing deep in side her says, to go on, see and believe
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
As daylight fades, the evening comes, and brings a big surprise
For up above, there are three moons, which lighten up the skies
The sky so dark without them, with stars that twinkle bright
It feels to so right to be here, as day time turns into night.
~~~~~
On the breeze, she hears music, from where she is not sure
Its soft and clear and beautiful, the sounds they are so pure
To and fro she gently sways, in time with drums and strings
Rising with one single movement, to dainty feet it brings
~~~~~
Where is it now that this girl stands? she really does not know
Soft breezes blow around her, “on this journey you must go”
~~~~~
With eyes so full of wonder, the girl just has to dance
On lithe limbs and tiny toes, the girl begins to prance
With visions of the beasts she’s seen all dancing in her head
On agile feet she swiftly moves like the antelope that fled
~~~~~
Then slowly like the feline she stalks across the ground
Step by step so silently she does not make a sound
With thoughts of the beasts she saw, she glides leaps and flies
Of fish and beasts and fauna, and the bird up in the skies
~~~~~
Melting back to tender knees to the ground beneath her feet
For some unknown reason, the girl now feels complete
Where is it now that this girl kneels? she looks around with awe
Soft breezes blow around her,
“THIS PLACE IS KNOWN AS GOR”
