I live a life in service to two extraordinary people. I like to believe I am more than their butler.

My typical day begins early as I rise and put on my uniform and get ready for the day. The coffee pot is already brewing as I prepared it before retiring last night.

At 7:00 AM, I carry a tray with a carafe of coffee, two newspapers (that I have ironed so that the ink will not run) and a spray of fresh cut flowers to their door and knock gently. Upon being summoned in, coffee is served and the newspapers are delivered.

I take my leave to prepare breakfast which is served at 7:30 in the breakfast nook. While they eat I review their daily schedules from my PDA that I downloaded last evening and take notes as to tasks I need to complete today.

As they are extremely busy in their careers my role as home manger is very critical and I take great care and pride in relieving them of any routine responsibilities in this area. I schedule the gardeners and other outdoor maintenance as required as well as handle the errands and grocery shopping. A task I greatly enjoy in this area is maintaining the wine cellar according to their specifications. Obviously, the choices of wines are made by them but the tasks of procuring and storing are completed by me.

During the morning, the housework is taken care of on a regular schedule as they are very particular to the quality and appearance of their home. Laundry and ironing are among the tasks being completed at this time as is general wardrobe care including shoe care. Daily tasks such as making beds and cleaning the bathrooms are done immediately after they leave for work.

Afternoons are time for personal improvement for me. Going to the gym or taking care of personal appointments. Recently, I have had some time to take classes that would improve my service skills such as wine stewardship, cooking, sewing, massage and nail care. On the way home from these improvement opportunities, I run errands such as go to the cleaners or grocery store.

The plan is for me to be home by 4:00 so that I can prepare to for their arrival. Depending on their business schedules or evening commitments, the schedule is to have dinner prepared by 7:00. The menu is prepared by me and approved in the morning before they leave for work.

Typically, I serve a glass of wine in the living room before dinner as they catch up on the day.

After dinner, I report on my days activities and catch up on business I need approval on from them and get my directions for evening activities. Once we are caught up with business I am dismissed to clean the kitchen and do the dishes. This is when I get to eat as I eat after the meal is completed to be sure I am available during the meal as required.

When the kitchen is completed, I report to begin the evening service. Perhaps massages or some nail care for Madam or shoe shining for Sir. This is also the time when their home is inspected and all the days activities are reviewed for quality and meeting their requirements.

Also in the evening, I review their calendars and day planners for new items and upload them into my PDA.

As both are very active in business and community, often they entertain in their home. These occasions can be either a cocktail party or a full dinner party. These events take much planning and perfect execution as I always went to present their home in a most accommodating and elegant manner.

As you can see I am certainly more than a butler with all the responsibilities and household management tasks I am charged with and with the level of personal service I am required to provide.

You may think that I am paid well for this level of service but as I said I am more than a butler, much more, I am their slave. Sir and Madam are more truly Master and Mistress and are my owners.

As a slave I serve at the pleasure of my owners and am punished for failing to provide any service required by them or just for their enjoyment. With the stresses of their careers and other pressures my Master and Mistress may choose to use me for their entertainment. They may choose to administer a good whipping or flogging or to have me kiss and worship their feet in front of their friends.

It is not the threat of corporal punishment that drives me to serve so enthusiastically but rather it is I embrace my role as a slave/ servant. My worst fear is that I would be dismissed from service.

This is a consensual arrangement sealed by contract. This meets my deep seated need to serve and relinquish power and control and so far has met their needs to be served elegantly relieving them from mundane tasks and serves their need to control and own a personal slave that not only cares and serves but is available for their entertainment.

So as I said at the start "more than a butler" and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
