I am historian, so don´t try to "explain" me your views of history, especially not the history of Balkans (primary areas of my doctoral dissertation are Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia and Orthodox Church). I am also Eastern Catholic, so no conspiracy theories about Church either, unless you want to be mocked. Yes, I know that my church condemns extra-marital sex. Yes, I know it condemns birth control. Yes, I know that many of you out there consider it old-fashioned, out of touch with modern world and a shitload of other things. I don´t care. I converted (well, not much of a conversion, since I somehow believed into a sort of deity/deities since childhood) to Roman Catholic Church when I was 22. Since then, I just became involved with Eastern Rite and now I am bi-ritualist. Well, I feel some sympathy for Neo-Pagans (not Wicca, I somehow have problems why not to burst into laugh about it), especially the Slavic ones, but only if they do not start their crazy gibberish about Christianity being unnatural to Europe, blah blah blah. Other than that, I mostly tolerate all other religions (should they tolerate the existence of other faiths). I neither consider Scientology a religion nor something to respect, so that´s why it is in the "Dislikes". I also don´t tolerate aggressive evangelization, be it Catholic, Hindu, Pagan or any other. I don´t tolerate even aggressive Atheists. Come on, I am not declaring a crusade on your organizations. Why are you declaring sort of a Jihad to my church?
Just for record, since I started my spiritual quest, I considered almost all major religions and several smaller, so don´t try to explain me that yours is better. I probably rejected it for some reason. I also read most of the major holy texts, by the way.
I am libertarian. Rightist libertarian. Quite close to anarcho-capitalism indeed. Yeah, Ron Paul is my choice for 2012. Come on, call me an "ignorant teabagger", a "naive", an "youngster", a "bigot". I am used to all of it, they call me like that every now and then. To be honest, if you call me that way and you proudly present that you are Democrat, you should think about yourself. About the libertarian stuff, don´t waste your and my time "explaining" me how libertarian society is soooo impossible. Seriously, I will not give a damn (especially since it functioned until governments started regulating it) and you will only get yourself my condescention. And hell, no more Democrats rantling about need of strong government. Seriously, guys and girls of the Democratic Party, do you think that Big Brother from D.C. or wherever is less evil than the Big Brother from Bible Belt? I believe that NO Big Brother is the best Big Brother.
By the way, I am strong advocate of gun freedom. Not only for security against wrongdoers, but most importantly so that a man can defend himself against government. Remember Ronald Reagan? That dark-haired guy, ya know? There is a great quote of his: "The 10 most dangerous word in English are: "I am from government and I am here to help". So true, painfully true. Believe me, any government agent is not here for your convenience, he´s there so that you do things the right way. The government way.
I do like USA. Seriously, ye of little faith, don´t admire Europe. It is a dark place here and it is getting darker every day. You have much better place on the other side of the Atlantic. |
