What is respect?  We're taught to respect one another.  We're taught to demand respect and to respect ourselves.  Is there a chance that respect is a cookie cutter, one size fits all kind of approach to people?  to ourselves?  I believe that respecting a person means treating that person as they desire and deserve to be treated.  Maybe you desire to be worshiped, or disciplined, or humiliated, etc.  What ever it is, do you deserve it?  Do you conduct yourself in such a way as to deserve that treatment?  We cannot demand a particular kind of respect or treatment from others.  We can, however, command it by acting in a such a way that shows that we deserve to be treated in the manner which we desire.
