Regarding safewords and such... saw a journal post that caught my attention. My two cents worth: Don't rely on colors or even simple code words like "uncle" or "mercy" playing the very first or even first few times with someone new. If they don't agree with "No" means "No," at the outset, don't play with them.

Don't be the sub that consents to having any choice taken away with someone new, and don't be the Dom(me) who takes that choice away. Save the word games for later in the friendship, after more trust is built up, and you have more assurance of your partner's safety and care for your welfare, or they have from you of their own.

I for one have gone so far as to have actually used "Mercy" in a scene that I felt was going too far, but She didn't hear me, and I didn't repeat it. And I endured it. It was Someone I knew for almost 20 years by then. It didn't destroy what we had, and I was okay with it afterwards. But here's the thing: We had known each other that long, and we had that deep a trust while in the Dungeon. It wouldn't have been acceptable the first time we played if I had said "No" and She didn't stop. But She was always much more attentive than that.

I've been fortunate that all the Tops and Dommes I've been with (only several, I assure you) have not crossed acceptable consent boundaries at all. They have known not to without having to negotiate it. Every Top should know not to, and every bottom has a right to expect that. I would call it common sense, if sense were really common.

Someone journalized that they were looking for the hot spots in Tampa. Generally just going up and down Seventh Avenue in Ybor City on a weekend night will bring You to a lot of watering holes, cafes, restaurants, band venues, discos, a strip club or two, pizza until 4 am, and then there's The Castle on Eighth Ave, 1503 if i remember right. That's the usual open to the public fetish venue, featuring shows, DJed music and geared toward an entertainment side to the Scene. Away from Ybor there are a few other places, concert venues like the Pegasus Lounge on Florida Ave in Lutz or Land O'Lakes (?) and the Brass Mug on Bearss and Skipper. Eyz Wide Shut's more of a private fetish club on East Adamo Drive on the east side of town. i think maybe i've been once but it was a long time ago. Hope whoever needed this sees it in time for Their vacation.

So i'm starting to figure out how to better use this site, and discover it has advantages over Fetlife, where i usually go and waste time. One has to be on it every day to make it work. Logging on and doing things refreshes where one appears in the feeds to other people. Contextual searches are also more possible here than on Fetlife, where browsing for people is an almost hopeless and wearying task because a Boolean search only works on names there. So, i need to leave that one alone and keep coming here often. Still very happy journals are back.
