About TriumphGirl

I'm finally updating this:

Read my journal - it is the best way to keep up with what's going on in my daily. Thanks.

--------------------

CURRENT OBJECTIVE: Vintage Airstream Restoration. I bought a 1971 31 foot Sovereign and I'm fixing it up.

WORK: I work from home, full time employment in a professional, vanilla and reputable capacity.

PERSONALITY: Opinionated, sassy, non-traditional, extremely liberal, vegetarian, musician, self-sufficient, creative, loving, talented, independent, analytic, vintage revivalist, monogamous and a bath-time, vintage suit (and textiles) & 1940s-50s glasses fetishest.

TATTOOS: I have them. Mine are not readily visible unless I want them to be. I don't care if you have them or not. Your vintage suits and glasses are far more important to me than your tattoos.

PASSPORT: Extremely well-traveled.

NON-D/S IDENTITY: Liberal, organic gardener. Life-long member of alternative communities including the "Rockabilly", "Indie", "Punk" and "Garage" scenes. In good shape. Environmentally conscious. Artistic, painter, artsy, crafty. I make sugar skulls. I'm an upcycler and a vintage revivalist. I play guitar.

RELIGION: Non-secular & I prefer the same.

HOBBIES: Writing, camping, cook-outs, tiki parties, live music, reading, guitar, restoration, thrift shops, vintage trailers, cars, british motorcycles and campers, singing, all things outer-space, noir & cyberpunk movies and books, vintage furniture, vintage textiles, vintage clothing, suits, shoes, hats, glasses, purses and other vintage apparel. Bicycles. Xbox. Design: Bauhaus, Eames, Googie, Heywood Wakefield, Art Deco, Art Nouveau.

MUSIC: 1920s-1950s gold era jazz, rockabilly, punk, no-wave, new-wave, americana, texas swing, western swing, classic country, (1930S-1950S), 1940S music, jump blues, garage, mod, freakbeat, psyche, electronic/electroclash, vinyl record collector, music nerd.

BOOKS: 1940S-50S Noir novels. Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Charles Bukowski, Allen Ginsberg, William Gibson, PK Dick. Dime Store detective novels, beat poets and cyberpunk. I'm a WWII buff.

I've stopped looking for my future darling in Austin as I have decided to move. The truth is, this kind of a city just isn't for me. The climate is too hot to find men wearing suits year round - which is one of the biggest strikes it could have against it for a lass like me.

Another issue is that I find Austin to be simply too spread out and as a result, the scene is too disjointed and there's no uniformity. It's hard to meet like-minded people. I have missed my smaller, east coast cities where you can't leave your front door without seeing 10 friends and everyone rides a bike. I love that closeness and the electricity that it creates.

I am heading back home - to the city where all of my life-long friends are. The strangest, most gothic, art-damaged old world city of Richmond, VA, where anarchists, drag queens, ska kids, punks, rockers AND mods live in tolerance and sometimes even love. I miss my beautiful city and all of the wackos that have made me the triumphant girl that I am. Sorry, Austin - I'm breaking up with you.

As a result of the move, I will be ridiculously busy over the next 4 months - working and saving money, etc. I will check on this page here and there, but I won't be looking to date anyone until I am settled back in RVA. I will update my profile when I am, as they say, "back on the market".

Have a great day.

Just a quick note - a very good friend of mine died on Sunday night and I'm not in any condition to answer any of my mail right now. I've really only come on here to distract myself for a moment. If you've written with no response, please be patient. thanks.

I need to figure out how to balance out the amount of mail that I'm getting, as it's not actually humanly possible for a single person to answer mail on this volume. I think first and foremost, I should be 100% explicit about exactly who and what I am seeking so that dominants who might be interested in me can automatically gather whether or not we have any potential as a match.

Firstly: I'm a monogamous, submissive fetishist with a fetish for vintage suits and suit textiles and vintage glasses. Being my dominant would mean that those aspects would 100% have to be a part of any relationship we might have as they are, as are all fetishes, non-negotiable. Also, you must own a bath-tub.

I do understand that the word, "fetishes", gets tossed around in the BDSM community as if it were synonymous with "stuff I like", but a true fetish to a true fetishest is not just an inkling. It is a requirement.

As for my submissive style, I'm just a natural. I'm not particularly intrigued by that aspect of myself, as it is just normally present when I am in a relationship with a dominant. I've been involved in the BDSM/F community for approximately 24 years and I have had multiple, long-term d/s relationships in my lifetime thus far. It means I don't get all hot in the face when I think about "submitting" anymore. When I think about a handsome dominant in a vintage suit, however, my ears start ringing. I hope you can understand the difference.

I'm a polite person, and I'm not going to be prodded by respectless and rude people into being anything but kind - so this journal entry is to help you to understand that what I need as a fetishist is my number one driving force in relationships. It defines my sexuality, more than a simple d/s dynamic.

I'm certainly not the "slave" type. I believe in romantic partnerships. In my ideal partnership, the man is the head of the house and gets the final say the majority of the time, but that doesn't mean that I won't be heard or relied upon for my opinions when we are facing bigger decisions. I believe in realism. I think it is too much pressure to put on one person to "always be right", and I've got too much life experience on offer to simply remain untapped because of some rigid self-determinations about what a sub and dominant's real-life roles are and are not "allowed" to be.

I seek a dominant fetishist, who is monogamous and believes is partnerships, who shares my fetishes or who could learn to love them, typify them, exemplify them and use that I have them. If he has fetishes he would like to explore or enjoy in our dynamic, (particularly vintage textile or other vintage fetishes), he will find me equally willing to help him to experience them to the fullest.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

How To Tailor A Vintage Men’s Suit!

Here is an excellent website dedicated to one of my favorite things ever:

http://www.mademan.com/mm/how-tailor-vintage-mens-suit.html

Another method that I have yet to mention of getting yourself started on a wonderful vintage suit collection for first timers or people on a budget is as follows:

If you search, "vintage suit" plus "cashmere wool", (or whatever textiles you prefer), into the search field on Ebay, you'd be surprised at how many matches come up. Anything in the $100 - $300 price range is likely going to be in very good shape. Simply find a style and size that are similar to what you need or prefer and take the plunge. Once you have the suit, you can have it expertly tailored for anywhere from $100-$400, depending on how much needs to be done to get the suit to fit you perfectly. This is a really great way for a first time vintage suit buyer to get started with his collection. Depending on what's out there, you could actually be able to add several top-notch, excellently crafted vintage suits to your collection for what it would cost to buy one high-end modern suit.... and you will look amazing.

Similarly, I have learned from previous partners that the same thing can be done with vintage glasses frames. Find the frames you want on Ebay or Esty, pop the lenses out and have them refitted by your favorite eye care specialist.

"What in the heck is a bathtime fetish?" you ask....

Why, it's a very specific type of TPE for subs who love to be treated like a bathtime dolly by their fully-clothed dominants, that's what.

What happens during bath time? Well, lots of stuff, but primarily, the sub is denuded, (disrobed), the water is run and tested, she's put in or told to hop in, and once there, she's bathed, (and maybe drown a little bit), by her handsome dominant.

It's the seemingly innocent erotica of a fully clothed dominant bathing his subby, washing her washy parts, shaving her shavey parts and preparing her for whatever he wants to do next... from bedtime, to a movie, to sex, to a hot cup of tea or whatever it is that he's in the mood for.

For me, it's not about age-play, though I'm certain that could happily co-exist with people who are into that. For me, that's not the point. All d/s and 1950s household relationships have a little bit of the dominant as the authority figure and the sub as the, well, not authority figure - but that doesn't automatically mean age-play. I like it best when it's Mr. and Mrs. rather than when it's papa and princess. What exactly DO the Cleavers get up to when Wally and the Beave are off being annoying at someone else's house?

So you're probably thinking - "I mean, that sounds sexy, but is it an actual fetish?" Yes. You can bet your hornrims and vintage suits that it most certainly is.

Bathtime can be sweet. It can also be where Mrs. Cleaver goes when she has purposefully baked Mr. Cleaver's shoe into the casserole to see what he'll do when he comes across it. It's a great place for Mrs. Cleaver to be reminded that everything she has, even breath, is because Mr. Cleaver allows it. ;-)

I'm complicated, very womanly, a bit of a paradox, single, well-spoken. I'm a grown-up, not a baby-girl. No children, never married, musician, self-sufficient, good job, independent, highly functional, a bathtime, vintage suit & vintage glasses fetishist and also a submissive. I'm a "wifestyler" more than a "lifestyler".

I left the uber-hard partying in my late 20's-early 30s. I'm 40, a vintage revivalist, artsy, a bit tricky; a vegetarian with old-school tastes and aesthetics. I keep an organic garden. I'm often smarter than men assume that I will be, but never as smart as I think that I am.

I know my way around a wrench, a perfume bottle, a garden and a kitchen. I'm alternative in almost every way and very, very liberal. I love rockabilly, old jazz, old punk, classic country (1930s-1960s.) I keep my cards close to my chest in social situations and, when I'm at shows, I'll often arriving wearing a nonde blazer over my clothing. I do this because I love to see how people react to me when they think I'm a square, and find amusement in how drastically they change when they realize I probably have more tattoos than they do. I am inherently curious, analytical and I like mystery.

Please have a look at my profile and think it over. I can't say I'm easy, but I can say I'm fun. If you are a classy vintage-styled or rockabilly man in a similar age group to me -- if you look sharp in your well-cut vintage suit and always keep your cool, if you find that women always want you but none seem to know you - and especially - if you wear hornrims or thick, black framed glasses...

Please get in touch. I'd love to meet you.

How to have a suit made using vintage textiles - a guide!

  • STEP ONE: FIND YOUR CUT

Here are some resources:

http://www.details.com/style-advice/rules-of-style/…

http://www.blacktieguide.com/Style_Basics/Basics_Su…

I recommend the following timeless cuts:
Slim or Sleek Cut
Gorge (or vintage mid 1930s -1940s cut)
Kent
British Cut
Italian Cut
Mod Cut

Combing through pictures of vintage Hollywood movie stars that look sleek is also a great idea.

  • STEP TWO: FIND YOUR FABRICS

If you Google "vintage fabrics" or "vintage suit fabric", etc., you will come up with a whole host of sites that offer vintage textiles by the yard. Some sites even have the fabrics broken up by era or decade. Here's a few of my favorites:

http://vintagefashionguild.org/fabric/
http://www.rickrack.com/
http://warehousefabricsinc.com/retro.html
http://www.vintagefabrics.com.au/

  • STEP THREE: FIND YOUR TAILOR

Googling "suit tailor" followed by the name of your city should put you in touch with everyone who's possibly capable of doing the job locally. When you contact them, make sure you ask to view their gallery or portfolio. Anyone worth a snort will have one. Do not forget to take photos and other images with you of the suit cut you have selected when you go in for your measurements.

  • STEP FOUR: Marry me. ;-P

...Out of gas on Broadway with my ass hanging out. hahaha. That's how I spent most of my afternoon today. I gave a friend a quick lift to his car and on the way home, I ran out of gas because the gas guage in my van doesn't work. I was wearing a pair of these Austrailian pajama bottoms from some company called Wicked Weasle, which, if you know anything about, means they are not only highly fashionable, they are also super low-rider ass-exposers by design. So basically the top inch of my asscrack was just swaying in the mid-day breeze and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I searched the van but found nothing I could tie around my waist to hide my butt. Luckily, I did find a gas can in the back. Unluckily, it was empty. So I had to parade my unclad asscleft about 10 blocks up and down Broadway to a gas station to fill up the can. The whole time I was actually afriad I might get arrested for indecent exposure. Some nice fellow passing by leaned out of his Jeep to let me know that my "ASS WAS HANGING OUT," because he must have thought I wasn't already fully aware of the situation. So that was helpful. How was your day?
The starter on my van doesn't work. I have to put the ignition into the 'on' position, grab a screwdriver out of the glovebox, get out of the van, crouch down by the front left wheel well and reach my arm in to touch the two contact points on the starter with the metal end of the screwdriver in order to get it to start. Day before yesterday, I ran myself over starting the van. I'd neglected to put it in park and I had the emergency break off... so when I jump started the ignition, the van started rolling forward and before I could get out of it's way, I earned a nice long tire burn on my arm, a twisted shoulder, a big bruise and a couple of cuts. I have now joined a small but elite group of people who have managed to run themselves over with their own vehicle. It's cool being a part of such an obvioulsy intelligent and savvy group of individuals, but I have to say, the membership initiation totally sucked. Just thought I'd share.
I'm interested in FRIENDSHIP first... like, real-time, real-life friendships. I'm not taken, so if things naturally develop in a romantic way, then they do. However, I'm not looking to jump into anything with anyone, and I am not interested in being with anyone I haven't hit it off with first in person on a friendly level.
I JUST moved to Nashville from Philadelphia, PA. I was born in Texas, raised in Virginia... I've lived in Nashville for less than a week!
