I started out in BDSM fairly recently as a domme. I'm still a bit uneasy about labeling myself as a switch, but I think that's where I truly identify. Power exchange is fascinating to me. And, while I love a good flogging as much as the next girl, it's really more about the cerebral aspect.
I take the ethics of SSC play very seriously. I'm an ahimsa vegetarian-- I practice the principle of non-injury in my daily life. (I do not find ahimsa to be in conflict with BDSM.)
Living in Utah has been somewhat of a challenge. I've only just discovered the SLC scene. I'm attending events as my school schedule permits, hoping to find some play partners and maybe teachers, as it's rather difficult to practice rope bondage on yourself ;)
I am tremendously interested in exploring my submissive side, but beware: I am a bit of a handful initially, as I can't really shut off my personality instantly. I'm sometimes a little bossy, more than slightly sarcastic, and prone to making "helpful" suggestions.
My interests are varied-- I found the BDSM checklists on here to be kind of lame, so I was ultra-selective. Ask if you want to know more... I love making kinky friends.
Also, in the spirit of full disclosure, I should mention that I do already have an adorable collared sub with whom I am in a relationship. Unfortunately, he's had to move home to the UK for an indeterminate length of time, so we've established an agreement for the interim.
