A former girlfriend introduced me to the world of fetishes and since, it has become something that I have read to learn more, and become infatuated by. Obviously, this profile is under development and will take some time and thought to put together.
Over the past several weeks, I have become increasingly interested in the psychological aspects of BDSM. It appears that there is a great deal of psychology involved, from how the Dominant breaks down a submissive's barriers to pursue their intentions, as well as the bonds that are established that further the same. I do like the idea of the conditioning that takes place, hypnosis, and using aspects like orgasm denial to reinforce acts of play that previously met with some reluctance. Seduction, conditioning, and reinforcement in some instances. Again, the psychology of the whole remains a fascinating and intriguing aspect.
Though a novice, my interests pertain to the psychological and psycho-emotional aspects, these are perceptions, and may be wrong; however, are how I envision it at present (to be updated as more learning occurs). For example:
The Dominant who identifies traits in the submissive to exploit in furthering their intentions and Dominance over the submissive. When the Dominant has intentions or desires they wish to pursue, that may not be as developed in the submissive, their methods of instilling that as regular acts of play to further their control over the submissive.
The Dominant’s use of orgasm control, denial, enforcement, as a means of associating the Dominant’s desired activity, with pleasure in the mind of the submissive. The Dominant Woman who either masturbates, or directs the submissive to masturbate, while She penetrates them with a strap-on. The reinforcement of release to the act of being penetrated by the Dominant, makes the act increasingly desirable, particularly when furthered through orgasm denial.
The submissive’s developing desires to please the Dominant by acquiescing to play previously not desired. Learning to simply “give in” to the Dominants designed path of planned play as a stepping stone process to exploring and furtherance in the submissive role.
The use of sensory deprivation or overload to heighten the targeted senses and further the mental aspects of play. Removing sight and sound, or enforcing the two as a means of heightening the emotional impact of the play in question. Bombarding the submissive with imagery of desired play while engaging in ongoing aspects, conditions the future play in the mind of the submissive. It may also play upon the unknown (i.e., blindfolds) to progress play as well.
The use of conditioning by the Dominant to further the submissive’s desire for the specific types of play wanted / imagined by the Dominant. I find this notion to be the most erotic, as (in my opinion), the Dominant is using words during play – in combination with other factors – imagery (visual or audible) to engage the submissive’s mind and plant seeds of play that loom in the future.
Ideation, or the aspect of "planting seeds" within the mind of the submissive. For example, during strap-on play, the Dominant having images (on computer, monitor, or television) playing in front of the submissive, forcing them to view the desired images as a way of furthering those notions and imprinting those in the mind of the submissive. The contrasting concept could employ such aspects as incorporating punishment (i.e., whipping, paddle, etc., - considering the submissive is not particularly into pain) to display undesirable images, depictions, notions, on the monitor in front of the submissive.
The submissive’s desire to acceptance of many things considered taboo in conventional society to gain acceptance and approval by the Dominant (i.e., a smile while sucking her strapon, or while performing bi-sexual acts). A submissive, heterosexual male, who succumbs to a Dominant Woman’s desire to see them engage in bi-sexual acts, cross-dressing, sissification, feminization, et al for the Dominant’s pleasure. Though it may be seduced at first, the Dominant makes it second nature over time.
The submissive’s willingness to confess deeply held desires to the Dominant as a way of seeking assistance in fulfillment, again, those aspects of taboo in conventional society. As trust is built, the submissive’s willingness to convey those desires they have retained as a means of seeking the Dominant’s assistance in pursuing. |
