Deference, courtesy, and respect.
We offer and expect courtesy from strangers.? We respect the people who deserve it.? We defer to those whose status in some context is higher than ours.
I'd like to expand on that: we are polite to those who contact us, and to those we contact.? We don't offer elaborate honorifics, nor do we expect them from strangers.? We really don't expect or want deference.? In other words we aren't your mistress and master.
On the other hand, calling us names won't win points either ;)

We were talking this evening about something that perplexes us both in the emails we get.
Many of the men who write asking to serve us have notes and profiles that contradict each other.? That is, they have profiles which proclaim them to be dominant and straight, but they label themselves as submissive and bisexual in their notes.
What's surprising here is that our correspondents don't seem to perceive the contradiction, nor do they see how not addressing it immediately takes them out of the running.
