I am not single; seeking friends only. I am also here to learn from those with more knowledge and experience than I.

So, some basic things about me for those who would care to know: I have been a vegetarian for 17 years (since I was 13ish). I lean significantly to the left end of the political spectrum, though this is tempered by a rather perverse inclination on my part to play devil's advocate. :) I am a feminist. I am a lot of things actually, if you're into labels.

I would consider myself a spiritual person; I am also an atheist - I don't see this as a contradiction. Erm... I don't smoke... no drug habits... I do drink very occasionally, though I could just as easily not.

I've been offered a place in medicine for this year; I'm fairly jazzed about this and am currently boring everyone in my social circle with my med-nerd jabber... Consider yourself warned. I paint and write on the side, speak (pretty rusty) Italian, and am currently wading through French.
I have a passion for music and dancing, and absolutely love to cook for the people in my world. I suppose I'm a nurturer, but I have my self-absorbed moments.

Integrity and self-awareness are of utmost importance to me. Add a sense of humour and stir, and you have the kind of person I love to know. :)

I also frequently find myself socially attracted to - and intellectually intrigued by - people that many find 'odd' - you know, the left-of-centres, the black-sheep - the genuine, non-pathological fringe-dwellers. :) This probably says something about me - what, precisely, is open to interpretation.

I very much enjoy discussions with those who hold differing views to mine - political, philosophical, whatever... However, a few words for those who are only contacting me in order to rave about the 'evils' of feminism: By all means, dispute/argue/contest/question... But if you have actually used the word 'feminazi' in a sentence with no semblance of accompanying irony, please pass me by. :) Trust me on this... Save your time and mine. I have zero tolerance for ignorance, and even less for bigotry (unless I feel like a chuckle - in which case, don't call me, I'll call you).

Ooh, and please don't ask for photos as I currently do not have a digital camera. Yes, I know, hard to believe - I must be a male masquerading as a female. :)

Update: I actually do have photos now, but I do not intend to provide them upfront - I see no value in trading images unless I intend to get to know someone further and/or meet them 'in the real world'. If you're looking for sexually suggestive photos or chat, good luck and all, but I'm not your girl.

... Additionally, if I do not reply immediately, please do not take this personally. These sorts of online communication formats are counter-intuitive for me.
