I don't like these (personals) sites; they're weird and artificial and limit searches in ways that don't match what I look for in people. Half the time the best matches come out of meeting someone in a totally different context and finding that although you'd have filtered them out of your search on a site like this, you think they're really cool.
On the other hand, how do you find someone who's cool with bisexuality, polyamory, kink, and the many other things someone would have to accept as part of the whole? The chance of finding them in the vegetable isle at the supermarket is minute. At least the filters give a starting point; you know they like maybe 3 of 1000 attributes.
I guess at some point people need to take a chance and just strike up a conversation, not knowing where it might go.
