About sephirah
i have not found a great many people -- or even a few -- that i connected with around both kink/sexuality and professional ambition. i am attracted to cerebral, highly educated men, who enjoy verbal sparring. but what i have most often experienced, even among self-identified kinky tops, is that i ultimately cannot submit to them because i don't feel like they can meet or match me.
to be clear, i'm not bratty, i'm not interested in power struggles, and i don't want someone to "take me down". i truly want to submit. but, i have to feel like the person to whom i am submitting is my equal in terms of intellect, will, presence, and intensity -- and that is proving to be much harder to find.
i'm currently pretty disengaged from the local (san francisco) bdsm/fetish community, although i have been active here and in other cities in the past, because i generally attract submissive men (and women) and i end up topping my friends. i definitely have a sadistic side (and an equally masochistic side) and enjoy scenes that allow me to express it. but that doesn't turn me on, it certainly doesn't get me off, and it isn't the dynamic that i want in a relationship.
