I am a 25 year old bottom that's new to the lifestyle. I am the type of person that actually takes the lifestyle seriously and wants my journey to be filled with great experiences and learning along the way.
Right now I am only looking to network and make friends. I will not be looking for a Master or Dom anytime soon since I feel that the first part of my journey needs to be internal. That doesn't mean that I don't like to play, that just means that for now, I will not be tying myself to anyone for any given time.
I feel that in this lifestyle respect needs to be earned from both sides, so please don't ask me to call You Master or Sir right off the bat, I don't know You, You don't know me. I will be respectful in speaking with Tops/Doms/Masters alike but I would rather not be treated like I'm Your slave, I am not. No disrespect intended.
I do have a mentor right now who is a very valuable asset to my journey. She also happens to be my step-mother. My dad and step-mom have been involved in the lifestyle pretty much since she came into the picture. About 11 years ago or so. I've known about it the whole time, they've always been open with me. When I had the experience that pushed me further into the scene (I always had masochistic tendencies but never fully realized where that meant I belonged) I had someone I could turn to immediately. It's been such a relief to have her so near if I have questions or concerns.
So far, I have only been to one weekend event but I am working on getting more active in the community. I go to munches but would like to start attending workshops, classes and functions. I also would like to start attending more smaller public play parties at the local dungeons. I say this because I've had a lot of people ask me what experiences I have in the scene, to further avoid having to repeat myself over and over (no one's fault, I just hate feeling like I'm filling out a job application, lol.) that information is here.
Also, please be patient if You/you send me a message, I'm working through them. I will mention now that I am NOT looking to enter a household nor am I looking for an immediate T/b-D/s-M/s relationship. I am looking for friendship and networking right now. I also do not like to role play or 'cyber' online, it just seems so fake and useless. I also don't want to talk about BDSM every minute of every conversation, I'm trying to make friends. Real friends. The kind of lasting friendships that you remember years later if you're not still in contact.
I will also say that if I receive the type of message that are nothing but orders from the wannabe Top/Dom/Master's thinking that I will bow down to their cyber feet and lick their boots upon just 'meeting' them, (as much as you can online) I will not respond to them.
I know I kind of sound like I'm giving orders or trying to make up criteria, but as a bottom/sub/slave we can't be too careful who we have contact with. I'm here for the right reasons and don't want that to be compromised because I make contact with the wrong people or am not clear in my intentions.
As a side note, the identifier tab leaves much to be interpreted. So far, I identify as a bottom. I've begun having some interest in learning to Top too. Making me switch-curious. I hope to have some experience Topping soon so I know how I feel about it.
