i had lunch with a man not long ago who claimed that every person, man or woman he has ever played with has deemed him not only extremely dominant, but also a sadist.  this sort of "horn tooting" rarely ever impresses me as i perceive it as an attempt at implanting a thought in a receptive mind; often his own. 

the conversation did prompt me to ponder what criteria would need to be met for me to categorize a man as a sadist, psychological or physical.  what i came up with was this; a person who becomes sexually charged by the act of taking another outside their comfort zone and basking in the ensuing suffering.

how fast the year has passed. 

i gazed into the western horizon at dusk to first see Venus reveal her brightness before the last light.  as the darkness settled in around me Saturn became visible as a mere flicker to the right above Venus. i was elated as the speck grew into a faint spark.  finally Mars joined them forming a triangle and for a fleeting moment i was content.
